then only top dunno how many percent from SISPEC will cross over to OCS.
we went for dunno wat talks for commanders
cos my CO n OC said 90% of us will go to commanding schs (SISPEC or OCS).
this talk was held 1 or 2 weeks ago only...
then oso got 1 colonel from HQ came gave us a talk on commanding posts oso...
so i tink the above directive haven started yet... -
then only top dunno how many percent from SISPEC will cross over to OCS.
Read somewhere it's the top 15%. -

my 2ic got say... the 10% will be made up of recruits who:
1) fail ippt
2) totally no leadership qualities
3) choose to be man
they will most likely be posted to infantry units as rifleman... -

well, maybe SAF finally realise they are having too many NATTO officers. so SAF decided to do some changes to have good officers now.
Well, i think everyone do agree tat there are really some 2lt whom think their bar is so great tat they are the king or even lord in a bloody unit. -

I find it very curious how many ppl like to use the phrase "Rank is what you wear, Respec is what u earn" and many ppl like the character protrayed by Damien Lewis, MAJ Dick Winters. remember the last episode when MAJ Winters saw CPT Sobel, he told him that "CPT, you salute the rank, not the man"
Well it may seem rather contridicting at times, but ultimately thats how an autocratic organisation like the SAF functions. Sublaterns do have their fair share senior officers using their rank to throw all sorts of work and shit to the sublaterns. well it just doesn't happen in the SAF, but across the working world.
There are also managers supervisors who by means of balls carrying do climb to senior or management position, and their lack of working ethics has cast a blanket of misjudgement and mistrust by those who has worked with them.
And junior officers ain't really the king in a Unit, not in my case, as potraying such arragant behaviour usually have a bad working relationship with his commanders and men. Throwing the bars ard in camp might scare people off at certain time, but ultimately the sublatern will stand to lose out more if the men choose to play him out. And i am NOT saying that the officers has to be popular among the men.
Being popular is easy, being a gd leader isn't. Unpoplular decisions has to be made at times, for all these events may seem unpopular with people, this how the world works, your not going to tell me just because a Commanding officer likes so and so and send the other companies to fight.
Lastly, my platoon sergeant onced told us back in BMT, "before you start to comment on your superior decisions and actions, you these CCBS better have earned his rank first before even saying that out"

maybe these officers have the mindset that just cos they passed through the training in OCS and the fact that they are selected makes them great?
but i guess these officers are just myopic in that they dont realise that on top of them there are still many MAJ LTC and COL.
but i think its all a vicious cycle... recruits get tekan by their officer, OCT get tekan by officer, and when they become officer they feel inferior and must tekan others. and the people who get tekan by them tekan and tekan here. but i think its changing lah -
i see trainee frm cadet to officer. cpl to spec.
few of the cadet while during their cadet days.. wahh... every instructions given they followed humbly. n very easy to interact with. once they get their bloody bar... those cadet whom happen to ooc frm course.. kena slap by those few idiots.. "hey.. CADET so-n-so. pls remember to call me SIR nxt time" and when ppls whom followed him thru his course.. to his day of becoming an officer.. "hey.. fark. i'm a officer.. do u think i'll commit such mistake?" when the officer himself clearly did a mistake.
aiya.. they are always some idiots out there spoiling the market lah!
