Police Academy and Pilot ...?

HmmÂ…I have some questionsÂ…guess some of you would know my story by now..
The Scenario:
I got posted to Police Academy for my NS and at the same time, received a letter asking me to go for a Pilot selection test. I understand the whole pilot selection thingy will take 6 mths and I must be in OCS to be considered for the post of Pilot-Trainee when I POP...
I had emailed CMPB asking them for a transfer to SAF for my NS term instead of SPF.
They refused, citing they need manpower.[Hell.. for every person that wants out of SPF I bet 20 from the SAF are willing to go in..]
I would gladly sign on if I get my wingsÂ…
Questions:
1) Does this mean I will have no chance of being a Trainee Pilot in my NS term if I do not sign on ?
2) If I pass the tests for Pilot selection while IÂ’m serving in the Police force, what choices do I have ?
-Sign on and start pilot trainee
[sounds unlikely]
-Sign on and go to BMTC again to see if I go to OCS(RSAF)?
[Waste a few months retaking BMT again and is taking a risk of being ‘stuck’ if I cant go to OCS(RSAF)]
-Do I have anymore choices ?
[Except to resign to fate and be a neighbourhood police officer

damn.. if I were enlisted into the SAF then I wont have any of these problemsÂ…
any help is appreciated.. -
im not sure but im currently serving in spf intake 118 and there was this guy who went for pilot test during training.. booked out for a day..maybe its still possible to join the airforce if u get selected..

well...the 6mths thing is IF YOU GOT PASS THE G-TEST, psychomotor thingi and 12-1 interview....if u got past all of them, RSAF will pull u out from tracom....they don't spend so much $ on pilots for nothing.

btw, its a 12 yrs job, once u penned down dat signature....12 yrs of ur life will be gone, if u 1 yr down the rd regret then also have to live in misery for the rest of 11 yrs. last time is 6 yrs but since they can't attract people despite lowering the recruitment qualities, they extend the service yrs by a whooping 200%....
how do i know ?! cos i was invited twice and they told me so. now they even offer lasik for those who wear spects but....its not dat gd of an idea...u will know more if and when they brief u and listen carefully and use more of your eyes to judge, not wat they show u on the .ppt file -

ey chunyong, i really wanted to be pilot lo.. so now i passed the cpss only. going bmt next month. anw, heard that they will look at ur ht. then during the interview.. coz it gets more and more 'critical' is it true ? or there's not enuf manpower alr.. so they 'll try to b nice ? haha.. as in go by book ? anw.. i'm 1.68m. is there a link in potential pilot trainee to ocs cadet ? (i heard there is..) juz asking though...not seeking ez way out la.. haha..

ok, here's how the initial pilot selection test goes:
1) go thru a detail medical checkup, every station consists of a nurse and a MO, finally being endorsed by the chief MO.
2) CPSS - Computerised Selection Test + IQ Test (abt 5 hrs): Pretty similar to the amp. test for those poly and JC guys but much faster and practical on flight simulation and a very tricky IQ test.
3) Panel Interview: Pass the above two tests and u will come to the panel interview during ur BMT. The Panel interview will consists of at least 3 persons - psych. + fighter pilot + rotary pilot, up to 7 persons will be interview u. The interview is pretty straight forward, go in, answer a few questions (be confident) and then come out and wait, if u pass, the clerk will immediately give u the proficiency contract to sign and go to the next room. Else, bye bye.
Pilot training is the top piority in NS, so even if u got selected for SPF, u still can go for pilot training, and even if u fail, u will still be back to SPF provided u can make it back to the next available intake.
