Questions on leave...

  Hi I have some questions on taking leave:
  
  As we know we had 14 days leave per year (In fact I am OOT personnel so I didn't 'enjoy' any blocl leave) so can bring forward all our leaves in our entire NS stint to before ORD so that we can relieved our duties earlier? (I don't intend to take any leaves unless there's really a need to do it) Thanks for answering my doubts!

  ask your S1 if your unit allows that.
  
  my previous unit didn't allow it, i had to clear my leave slowly. Due to lack of manpower.

  yes you can accumulate your leave and consume them in one go when you are about to ORD - if there are no constraints in manpower requiring you to be around. however, this does not mean that your ORD date has been brought forward. you still collect your pink IC on the same day.

  depends on your unit. some units only allow a certain number of leave to be brought over to next year. consult your chief clerk for more info.
  
  for combat units, you don't have to worry about your leave. after a siong exercise, all will go on block leave together.

  i'll planning to clear some leave during chinese new year next year. cos next year chinese new year fall on wed and thur. so take 1 leave on friday i can have a super super long weekend.

  Try to clear when you have the chance, it turns out to be real havoc for admin later, try and see.

  Some good advice here. The unit's (ops) needs has the priority & sometimes an individual serviceman must subordinate to them; the middle ground is when block leave are scheduled for certain groups to take advantage of certain downtime periods.
  
  Moreoever, from my own experience, you're more likely asked to arbitrarily sacrifice certain "owed" off-in-lieu's (if forced to), rather than the annual leave which - being more of an official entitlement - is less messed around with.
