not marksman, at least a pass... which is quite hard to fail.Originally posted by Moxie:Wow, really?
My Tekong BMT was long, long ago - almost 2 decades & counting - & they only recourse OOC cases due to injuries or illnesses back then.
The official line was (is?) that recruits must attain "a certain standard of proficiency" in IPPT, SOC, marksmanship & swimming, while learning non-test skills like IFC, weapon-handling, grenade-throwing, bayonet-fighting & marching drills. He's arrowed to redo BMT only if he's missed out, for some reason, on an intolerable amount of those instructions/trainings.
The DI's would push him very hard - even "scare you" - about the IPPT & SOC benchmarks in particular. But fail those tests, as well as for CTSS, & he'll likely just be assigned a less garang vocation (likely still combat & frontline, though) in those days, that's all. BMT was never meant as the be-all; he's going to run & shoot again with his active & reservist outfits.
Thus I doubt the "fail-BMT altogether" threat, unless the SAF's changed the doctrine & has set aside enough money/logistics to facilitate a costly retraining endeavor like rifle marksmanship.

What if I fail my range in BMT?
Gonna have my range soon, and my final big event in BMT...but quite worried bout my range. Coz during Sec Sch, I was in NCC, and my live range, failed terribly while everyone pass well...so got abit of black shadow...
And this time in BMT, went for IMT, found tt the 1st few rounds still not bad, until the 4th round, my eyes suddenly went blur and couldn't aim at all.
So i'm quite worried bout it...
i heard from my friend that the current BMTC system don't require u to recouse if u fail only range. if u achieved a certain amount of attendance and pass most of the other tests u are considered fine.Originally posted by kopiosatu:recourse
You will still pass out BMT provided you meet other minimum requirements but no OCS and SISPEC for you then.Originally posted by iamwhoiam:Hey, juz a question...

Anyway during my range I'mone round short of getting a marksman, some kookoo from the next lane shot my target.Haha,so became marksman.
Anyway, anyone ever experience with one round down 2 targets?During my 100m range for the last two snap deliberate targets,I shot a single shot and both targets went down.Care to explain?I think the only reason is that the round rebound. But is this possible? Please share.(*at that point,my aim was around the middle of the Fig.12 target.)
