SOF is unlike any tom and dick unit in SAF. Anything pretaining to SOF should be P&C...

Uhh, what's with the cloak-and-dagger routine? If SOF's entry requirements were on a "I'd tell you but then I'd have to kill you" basis, they wouldn't be recruiting, would they?
devil_87, I'm not certain how it is in other units, but in CDO the NSFs could go for SOF selection. Four guys from my company got in, and only one was a regular at the time - the other three signed once they passed selection. I'm not sure, but I don't believe you need to be a regular to go for selection if you're from another unit.
The long and short of it is that after passing the fitness standards, you go for a few weeks of selection which culminates in Hell Week. Those that make it to the end begin about a year's worth of training before going operational. -

the best way to know about sof is to actually join em eh? i'm sure it can be done if one has the right attitude and mind set.... -

from what i heard.
1st year basic course
subsequent 3 years of other trainings
then you become operational SOF after 4years
could be wrong.. juz what i've heard. -
SOF only open to In-service personnel, NSFs, regulars from tri-services as long as you meet the basic requirements like medical status PES A etc...

SOF's not a big enough unit for everybody to do their tours as OC, CSM etc. within Force Line. to join SOF i tink u muz get a letter to go their selection.. there is a on going phase 1 selection now.. seen dem run, swim everyday..

similar to STAR, if u pass the selection, they want you, as well as you soul...which u will sell to them when u pen down your signature.

tokking abt SOF..... last time during NSF days, my whole company went to their 'presentation' over at CDO camp .......... very impressive, machiam in movie ..... cos when they swtched off the lights in the auditorium, then those SOF pple stormed in in full gear firing off with their sub-machines guns !!!!! COOL !!!
