the complications of sending a candidate to lasik is too much... doubt they will do it... in saf directives, after a person went for lasik will be downgraded to pes C dunno wat wat... and will assume a clerk job temporary...
thus the requirement of sof personnel of pes A are then not met and thus can't be trained liao... then what do the sof wants the person for??
wont tt means a waste of rations??(j/k) -

u sure u got the rite directive??
then i guess lotsa pilots are gona be in for a downgrade..
n for your info..they do send their candidate for lasik...all paid by SAF..priority are the SFs n pilots... -
as i'm interested in going for lasik(paid by myself), i ask my GP for a referal, he gave me but the hospital told me to seek approval from camp MO. Then I go find him and he told me nowadays saf got directives which says if a person goes for lasik will be temporary downgraded to dunno PES C dunno wat N dunno wat for 3 mths and hence can only does a clerk job.
so i dun think sof can afford to let its trainee to go idle and be a Special Clerk, haha(j/k) for 3 mths while his batch boys undergoes training right... -

Are there other criterias for SOF applicants to be accepted? If you're PES A but a skinny kia still can go in??

i forgot to mention, the no.12s all tio headshot. can't remember is 1 or 2 bullet holes. and the demonstrators were wearing night vision goggles. you imagine how hard it is to aim while wearing those.

i know at least one pilot who went for Lasik paid by RSAF....so i guess he will be a Pilot Clerk for 3 mth?? same wif the SOF..i know one guy who is joining...

as i say even if its true..its only Temp..Lasik can be done after they graduate..
dont think it effect much to be non-operational for 3 mth..
there are so many specky around....n to find people with perfect eyeside with SF n Pilots quality aint easy... -

As for shooting with NVGs on, laser sights are a wonderful toy. The more challenging part would have been getting into the room without making noise. -

Were they using carbine? Not scared that the bullets might ricochet ah? -
What's the killing house? sounds damn cool.. Is it reserved for the exclusive use by sof personnel? Are you sure you got to see where the rounds land? The killing house is a building used by SOF for FIBUA training - it is out of bounds to the rest of the battalion. haha maybe the operators use blanks and behind the no 12s got those tiny electronically detonated explosives used in the movies.. so when they fire, the guy in the control room detonate then the 12s seem to have been tio-ed with hs.

Ah well, must be something fairly new then. They sure didn't have that kind of recruitment drive when I was in the battalion. it's called simunitions. instead of FMJ-ed or HP-ed tip, it's a gelatin shell filled with water based dye. despite it being 'soft', it still hurts when you're hit and may cause large bruises.

specops87: yes. it's like paintball, except that it's propelled by real bullets.. and it friggin' hurts. best thing is that when you train with it, you actually feel like in combat cause you're really looking out for any threats whilst when using the miles or the new system, forgot what its called, you can go around happily running without giving your safety a second thought cause no pain is incurred. but it's expensive though.
well whether this story is true or not it don't matter, just as long as we know that the sof are there and good-to-go.
