well whether this story is true or not it don't matter, just as long as we know that the sof are there and good-to-go.
the new system is sort of laser one, u wear a vest dat has a sensor, if u got hit then gameover, it can be configured such dat if u got hit then ur arm also cannot fire liao. quite gd the system but there are some bugs dat will occur once in awhile. then u got to affix a rectangular thing near the end of the barrel also, abit leychay. -
which is exactly why it's better to use simunitions.. just need to change the upper receiver so that it can accept the simunition round and off you go, with proper face and torso protection.

the only way in which we're able to make our men know what combat is like is by putting them through it and having them feel what it really feels like to have rounds flying everywhere.. as for the hit, it can hurt quite a bit. saw a documentary on simunitions and one guy got shot and after the exercise, he had this big bruise, diameter was the size of a football.. sheesh! therefore, once our men learn not to just pop their heads around the corner they will learn the essence of moving like a combat unit should. once again, it is expensive though.. -

Hmmmz...shot FX rounds during Army Open House this year.can tell that the recoil from such rounds are lighter.
Chunyong,I belief what you are talking about is this new system called TES (tactical engagement System)?Its either that,or the older and more cumbersome MILES (Multiple Intergrated Laser Engagement System).Well they do allow for realistic training to a certain sense,however the realism of being hit is quite absent.Although the sensor will buzz or beep after registering you have been shot.Anyway,there is a newer and better type,its using ammunition with a wax-like projectile,and will register a hit pretty similar to the FX rounds.So if we integrate both the wax round or FX round with the TES or MILES it will certainly add realism to training. -

ah yes that tactical engagement system. apparently it's not bad.. but i still stand firm with the possibility of training our men using the simunition rounds.. well at least we can start off with the regs then slowly work our way down to the pdf or smth. just my 2 cents

During SOF selection, is it a "Instructor assess Trainees" situation where if the instructor assess that you are not up to the standards that they kick you out or it is a totally "Endurance" situation where Trainees during the selection, opt out themselves when they can't take it anymore?

if u wan to join SOF then u must first know wats ur reason for doing it.. becus u tink its way cool or r u good to go for live operations there n then.. if u tink it pays a hefty sum but u dont wan to suffer then its 2 bad for u.. tell u it aint easy.. the best way is to sign on to commandos then slowing move ur career into SOF cos it is not someting for NSFs... its tough enuff training in cdos so if u wan to join the men in black u hav to be physically n mentally prepared to take the shit.. jus my 2 cents worth (TURNOUT!! TURNOUT!! hahaha)

To be sure, there are plenty of guys who went over from the battalion (six guys came from my company alone), but at the same time, some of my mates from Engineers and Armour are equally comfortable there. Going through Commandos first is not necessary. -

yeah it happens everywhere..i know of a guy in OCS who had to OCC in brunei as he was allergic to beestings... what a waste a mth before comissioning..oh well life got to move on...but HEP B is a pretty serious case right ??
