What actually is CCO?

Camp Commdant Office (CCO).
I was from Camp SG during my active days. I always wonder what is actually CCO other than the name. I just know that the service arm of the camp seems to be under CCO, store lah, MT line lah, etc, etc.
Last time just draw stores from them or indent vehicles but neber really asked them what actually is CCO.
Wish to get this qn off my head, so can any kind soul explain what is the core function and purpose of CCO?

so there's a need for someone to be overall in charge...

Yup, just like in Pasir Laba you have the big boss of TRADOC (if I'm not wrong is a BG). But there is still a CCO for Pasir Laba Camp.

for example CCO is in charge of sercurity (Guard House), Medical Centre, Swimming Pool, MT-Line, Ammo Dump, QM etc.
btw for those not sure what CCO stands for, CCO stands for Camp Commandant Office. mostly, the head is a CCO is a retired MAJ or LTC. CCO is not necessary the biggest in a camp, they still have to follow orders from the camp's Formation HQ.

CCO = camp commandant office.
It is a separate unit from the others in the camp. It's role is to provide logistical support to the units in camp or NRU visiting the camp.
It exists to coordinate the pool of logistics so that foul ups dun happen.
e.g.
In tekong, both sispec and bmtc are to go thru CCO to book their book in/out ferry in a first come first serve basis. If BMTC controls the ferry timings, then naturally it would have priority over "good" timings. so on and so forth.
Shared resources, like medical centre are under CCO's care cost accounting could be sorted out easily. Compared to Med Centre under BMTC then Sispec overuse it and deplete bmtc's resources.

Something like your condominium's estate office.The members need this department to ensure resources are properly run and allocated, yet the ofice must answer to the residents ultimately, at the EOGM, same as CCO must answer to Formation/Division HQ.

The departments under CCO is: HQ, QM, MTL and Medical Centre if I was not wrong.
