err.. you mean to say when you were firing blanks, you changed into the blank attachment, and kept the muzzle somewhere else, only to find it missing when you return?Originally posted by epImetheus:also dun know how it got lost.....was doing section movement & kept on firing blanks.
then during break, my section-mate noticed that the muzzle was missing.![]()

because the bolt carrier group and the magazine are SAF properties, while the ones sold at beach road are counterfeit, imitation, not genuine, forgery.Originally posted by SpecOps87:But last time there was this NSF Specialist who is an armourer he kena jailed in civilian court for possession of parts of the bolt carrier group of the M16 and the magazine...so how is it possible to sell parts of the M16 in Beach Road?
Actually the parts sold at Beach Road may well be genuine... Smuggled in from thailand or something.Originally posted by Gordonator:because the bolt carrier group and the magazine are SAF properties, while the ones sold at beach road are counterfeit, imitation, not genuine, forgery.
genuine parts dun break down during your 1st firing. not usually anyway.Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Actually the parts sold at Beach Road may well be genuine... Smuggled in from thailand or something.
Anyway I seriously doubt that the authorities are really ignorant of this underground beach road business since apparantly so many servicemen already know about it. Maybe as long as they don't sell enough parts for the buyer to be able to assemble a functional m16, the police ain't gonna bother raiding all the shops.
second hand? who sells that? and that means someone wore it before??Originally posted by pkchukiss:I got a second hand helmet for $80. But that was because I lost mine, before I found out from my PS that it costs $60 if I signed 1206, and it would be a new one... BUT, I have not regretted my $80 purchase

Haha.. never knew there's a demand for old helmets, of all things.Originally posted by pkchukiss:I got a second hand helmet for $80. actually, u need not watse the money to buy a new one. u can get form those OOC/ PES C downgrade people, or those posted to RSAF or RSN. since i doubt they will be needing it anymore.Originally posted by pkchukiss:I got a second hand helmet for $80. given that people have lost the 84 before (ask ditzy), im sure you are not the first to lose a helmet! try something else!Originally posted by pkchukiss:During my evaluation for my scout course over at Pulau Tekong. I was supposed to climb this mini-knoll to do some map tests (re-section, and all that). Finished the climb, I felt something fall from the rear of my field pack (we all hang the helmets there, headress was jockey cap). Then I discovered my cargo net was empty.
Everybody searched the area, but couldn't find it. I was in deep shit... Never before in the history of the SAF (I think), has anybody lost a helmet... I am the first. Call Guiness??
It's no joke when you lose yourself in the dark, pitch black Li Chu Kang night....As long as your guys do not get over-mesmerised by the Milky Way in the sky, all should be well..Originally posted by pkchukiss:How about myself?
There was once during navigation exercise during my AIT (Advanced Infantry Training) phase we got ourselves hopelessly lost in Lim Chu Kang. The sergeants were following us, and were not allowed to help us save for tips and hints.
So there we were stuck not knowing where we were in the dark... (Thank goodness I wasn't the guy who did the navigating then, or I would have been the butt of tons of jokes like that guy right now...)![]()
I know someone who didn't exactly lose his helmet but was stolen from his bunk as the door lock was spoilt.Originally posted by wuming78:given that people have lost the 84 before (ask ditzy), im sure you are not the first to lose a helmet! try something else!![]()
