I grew up in the area until I turned 15. The Chilli Noodles on the GMFC 2nd level is very famous - aka "Chong Cheng" noodles cuz the hawker stall used to be at the Chinese school of the same name near Jalan Sultan. Their standard is no longer the same, since the stallholders said they're getting old & are forced to manually prepare their sauce on the premises (as opposed to using a bigger machine located elsewhere, but alas unlicenced).
But catch them in a good mood & they'll sell you a small plastic container of chilli for $3, which you can mix in with "tau pok" at home for your own version (they no longer serve their mee that way). -
