You can only be excused IPPT if you have a long term excuse from outside Specialist or SAF MO for all stations or a certain station, depending on whether the excuse is for upper limb, lower limb or back. I did all stations for my IPPT and got $100 for obtaining a Silver. There is no reward of a pass and $200 reward for Gold. You will still have to take IPPT during reservist cycle.Originally posted by PS2003:but then they put me in PES C1 hve to do IPPT... yes i noe but it stated say can be excused 2 stations... i not too sure iszit can be excused any or the commander say so 1... then if i ORD liao i still hve to go for IPPT test or not.... but i heard frm my friend say even if i pass i wont get the award prize...
Actually there are personnels with PES C*L9 but it is rare and usually they are deployed into clerkal vocations.Originally posted by Moxie:[afei - manners please, don't hijack the thread.]
1stly, anything but PES D, E & F is technically considered "combat-fit". PES C itself doesn't rule out frontline combat (eg. see C1L1 below), but it does advocate posting to only certain operational vocations.
2ndly, the PES status for A, B & C refers more strictly to participation in IPPT. The L-Code (Land Deployability Code) refers more to where you can be vocationally deployed.
So:-
PES C - Fit for some operational vocations (Modified BMT)
>> C1 - Required to take IPPT but can be excused up to 2 static stations
>> C2 - Do not have to take IPPT except Regulars (who take the AAFT)
>> C9 - Not required to take IPPT
>> L1 - Fit for field duties including front-line duty
>> L2 - Fit for field duties but only in Unit HQ or rear areas
>> L3 - Fit for operational duties at Bases only. Not fit for field duties/exercises
Both C1L3 & C2L3 postings would be something like camp medic or signal-storeman if you're sent to a frontline unit. On the whole, C9 personnel have more chances to go to a rear-echelon outfit like those at BDG- or DIV-level or to a MINDEF desk job. But a lot of L3 personnel also end up with combat-support/logistics (supply, maintainence, transport, medical, ordnance, etc.) under the DISCOM umbrella.
