The free-lancers will run if you are with police force.

I don't see why not. FWIW A lot of army bases elsewhere in the world have cottage-industry brothels located nearby.
The SAF can charge you more for being too drink-intoxicated, I think. As far as military law, IMO the worse they'll hit you is with a summary trial (i.e. internal disciplinary action). It's not big enough an offense to involve the formal military courts.

It would be better if you went to these places by wearing CV

there are very general and deliberately vague guidelines on what one should not do as an SAF personnel, particularly when one is in uniform.
if nothing else, they can always use the mother of all charges (chap 295 i think) against any SAF personnel who misbehaves!

Chap 295, that's the one that includes "Conduct unbecoming of a service personnel" or something to that effect isn't it? Which IS THE MOTHER of laws....
Anyway, back on topic, there are "legal" and "illegal" pros in Geylang. If you're in a registered brothel, the police would prob not raid it and you would prob not get into trouble (unless you suay suay screwing a 17 yr old China Citizen who was hired illegaly). However, if your tastes deviate towards the street walkers AND you get caught, GOOD LUCK!
On a similar note, what do you all think of Uniformed personnel buying illegal VCDs in uniform? There used to be a little table set up at Bt Batok MRT/Bus interchage peddling such stuff and i'll admit to buying them whilst in uniform. But the champion person would be the CPT beside me picking away at the PORN VCDs AND then bargaining with the little ah-beng who prob only gets paid $10 an hour to man the table. No pride.....

What if gals sell their body?

No, it's a crime to solicit - but it's not a crime to visit a prostitute (uniformed or civilian), morals & tact aside.
