that's more then a week away! i believe there'll be another retest for those IPPT failures again. take me for example, i pass my IPPT 1 day before i POP. -
Everyday this week shalt be IPPT I think

but then even if he get silver, it's doesn't necessary mean that's he'll be in for OCS. many factors still applies, like his performance, his relationship with his platoon mates/PC/sgts bah bah bah.
so keep your fingers crossed. all the best to him.

But firstly on the personal front, how bad is his injury? This will be the most important question that will be asked by any selection panel. Will he recover within the next few weeks???
I would suggest the following:-
1) ask him to sound out and convince his current BMT OC (not PC). The OC's recommendation is important, be it to OCS or SISPEC, as I remember. He should try to get into SISPEC at least ( I believe this is the minimum nowadays to get into the RSAF review panel).
2) Go get some MO advice on therapy and make sure that his current weakness of his arm is on "official record". Assuming his other personal factors are good, e.g. his attitude, his other BMT test (marksmanship) etc etc , I think because he is aiming for RSAF selection, he stands a good chance. Maybe wrong but I was part of the system years ago and I believe the mindset is still the same. -
You dun need a silver to get into OCS..I know..since I was in a PTP company..and I got a pass only, same as my friends and we got into OCS..
Anyway, since he passed, it's alright..
and if he passed the pilot stuff, he doesn't need to be based on his own abilities to go to OCS..He will be posted to OCS to go for TST, and then get posted to AIR wing in OCS after 4 weeks..and then air force school..
So, if he's meant to be a pilot, he doesn't even need to really do much to get into OCS -
Yuppp.... agree. But I think the SAF minimum is SISPEC and then to OCS senior (whatever it is called now) shortened term. The rationale is that you should be fit enough to get into sect cmdr school. The second reason is that you must have some understanding of basic infantry tactics. Kind of like the US Marine Corps aviators. All the officer pilots have to go thru' the US version of infantry OCS.
