NDU to OCS....

would appreciate if anyone an provide me with info on gettin into OCS... juz finish my A's and will be enlistin into NDU april nxt yr.. would like to noe if there r any extra criterias to be met so tt i can qualify for OCS in NDU? how many ppl do they choose from a batch of divers to go for OCS? any diving officers or officers? plz help! Thanx..

It differs from batch to batch, depending on how many divier officers they need that year. But you really need to be the best of the best to qualify, and it helps that you are a A lvl student. For 22nd and 23rd batches they are only sending 1 NSF diver to OCS, and competiton is extremely intense. But you may want to reconsider as combat diving course takes around 7-8 months, plus the 9 mths of mid ship man[ navy ocs], and the transition period, by the time you comission, you will only serve as a officer for at most 3 mths before you ord. And bear in mind that officers serve longer reservists as compared to men and specs, who oly serve 6 yrs of reservist.

saw 3 NDU OCT at Singapore Polytechnic FC2 last october with other Navy OCTs....think they were playing 'computer game' at the Maritime Academy.. -

NDU OCT oso need to go thru mid ship man meh? like abit useless oso...izzit different if i consider to sign on? -

You have to include your BMT inside. That's why you will need around 8 months to complete the whole class 2 diving course. It is a navy requirement that all naval OCTs go through midship regardless of vocation. its not as simple as getting A levels or proper educational qualifications u noe....can u lead ure boat crew from the front when the time comes?are u willing to take responsibility of your actions and your men?...are u going to stay headstrong during all the training in NDU?....its not as simple as black and white u noe...its more of ure character as a person towards ure peers and superiors...and most importantly...

u must be super zai to be an officer in ndu.
besides outshining the rest of your batch physically, u must also have the leadership qualities.
btw you will be in the 25th batch
