Mono-Intake: Is it stuck @1 Unit for Life till 40 years old?

Is there a high chance of being man in the unit you are direct;y enlisted to?
Lets say I got mono-intake and enlist into Singapore Armoured Regiment, after the BMT can I go to SISPEC and be a specialist in commando? Or will I remain in there and be a man? -
u'd be a man for the next 2 year
if u're selected for commandos, u'd be enlisted in their mono-intakes -

got a fren...mono intake..end up going to sispec after bmt..and became a 3rd sergeant and signing on......now...25...already a 1st sergeant...
it all depends on ure potential..
u work for it...superiors will see...they will vouch for u and help u advance...

Most mono-intake batches take in those destined for "Man" vocations due to their education level, though it is not totally made up of enlistees of the same qualifications.

let's put it this way,
mon-intake
posted to a unit 1st then start BMT.
BMTC start BMT 1st then posted to unit. BMTC is also usually where they choose who go OCS who go SISPEC. -
Okay, so there is a chance where after an interview, I state that I want to sign on as a commando or scouts specialist, will they consider it? Provided I have excellent performance in BMT

infantry, guards, commando are combat arms. a scout is a vocation, just like a signaller, a storeman, etc. there are scouts in a guards and even cdo unit too (rite?)Originally posted by cat_god:Got it... so it's like a long way to CDO...
