~Field Pack Items~

Ok Guys, since many of us here are NS-men. Could we just summarise during our NSF day what is your unit standard field pack item? I believe every unit has different SOP. Well start from me 1st
Pack 1
2 Sets of No.4
Pack 2 1 set of PT-kit, 1 towel, 1 pair of socks, 2 pairs of undergarment & 1 sewing kit.
Pack 3 Mess tin which inside include, soap box with soap, shaver, toothbrush & toothpaste, lighter, matches, C size battery, SAF powder & candle.
Pack 4 Smaller mess tin which contain boot lace, kiwi & brush.
Pack 5 Toilet Roll.
Pack 6 1 pair of PT-shoes
Pack 7 Lifejacket, Goggles & items use for rapelling.
Miscellaneous items will be ET-stick & blade, ground sheet & combat rations.
Well hopefully those guys who serve NS might share with us here
Not to forget those still have not enlist can ask around what are those stuff -

Ground sheet's a miscellaneous item?
Can't remember our exact SOP for the field pack - we just packed it, put it on top of the cupbaord and left it gathering dust.
We packed everything according to mission requirements. Typically, our ALICE packs would contain:
- signal set
- batteries
- hammock
- batteries
- ground sheet
- batteries
- binoculars
- batteries
- camouflage netting
- batteries
- MRE's
- batteries
Ammo, map, compass and so on would by on the SBO. Oh, did I mention batteries? -
there's a trick to packing all those items into that small field pack. make sure your ziplock bags are air tight. then roll up those uniform, admin shirt/pt shirt and towel into the respective ziplock bags, because rolling them up save space. sitting on them and squeezing out all the air helps too.

And dun burst ur ziplock bags whilst packing
My fren was packig his stuff once for field camp and had a hole in the ziplock bag, when brought outfield all the stuff inside gone liaoz....cos of rain -
Well dont to mention my unit force us to have 2 black rubbish back inside our field packs & put all your pack 1 to 6 which is ziplock already. As not to have water gone in especially river crossing! Well the effect is good! None of my stuffs inside is wet..Not sure if other unit practise that?

have u all noticed that they are using a new field pack now. well, it's the same design, but the 2 side pockets are longer now, all the way to the base of the field pack. it's good in a way now that one can pack more things into that small pack.

But it allows commanders to say that you are able to bring more food and stuff along -

Use the thicker one. What wuming said, the clear plastic one, now comes in black colour too -
