  is it true that last time guards nsf can go for ranger course?
  heard from my friend he saw 1 reservist pc with ranger tab..

  maybe the PC was a regular on 3-year contract?

  yes, last time NSF guards and commandos can go for ranger course. but due to the long training period, not sure whelther they still premit NSF for the course now.

  again, its a matter of priority and need. for NSFs, the priority and need will naturally be low, even for commandos. other than that, there are no restrictions on NSFs going for the course.

  During my time (back in 1996) some NSF PCs from guards and CDO are allowed to attend ranger course. A few of my mates did so. But their OCs were mighty piss with their long absence. Not sure if they still take in NSF, especially after reducing NSF to 2 short years.

  Well back to the topic..Last time when I was a NSF back in 2001,
  
  I ask my unit CSM & OC whether NSF allow to go for ranger course but they told me I am not allow because I need to have at least a SGT rank & also to be a regular.

  if u intend to sign on.. u can request to go ranger course. dats wad a guy did and he juz pass out from ranger course. 20 yr old sommore..

  i believe the system now is that all commando regulars must go for ranger course, whether u pass it is another question.

  its not a must, but if you wish to stay as a commando regular and clinch a smooth career advancement, then you better go for the course, and pass it.
