Yeah, I agreed wif you. I am still wearing the same pair of boots from Day 1 of posting to my units after BMT. That pair of boots served me thru 10 years of numerious ICT, 2x ROC.Originally posted by Gordonator:i don't like Gore-Tex boots whether it's the new all leather ones or the waterproof hybrid ones.

ya, the new all leather Goretex boots are only $70++ as compared to the old Goretex boots which is $100++ (in credits).Originally posted by bcoy:... And now, I read - to save costs - recruits are going back to leather boots again.
I still think the traditional boots match nicely with the no.4Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:The goretex are super song to wear, but they are delicate. By the sixth month of my army life, after all the outfield and route marches, they have been worn down quite alot. Wanna get replacements but my credits will be blown away.
u can buy the gortex boots at beach road but i strongly suggest u don't, cos it's definately overpriced. why not wait until u get call up for reservice then go to your unit's e-mart to buy with credits?Originally posted by gnoik:I still think the traditional boots match nicely with the no.4

Tink the SAF make themselves la..haha..And if u noticed carefully there are numbers inside the boots..wad are they for?Originally posted by Gordonator:i always wanted to know which company made the lao jiao boots?
is it made by SAF itself? cos i can't find any ladel anywhere except "Property of SAF".
they are made by some local contractor, but according to the requirements of the SAF, if u guys recall the old leather boots just before the gortex range, the boots even provided a small little slit on the inner side of the boot where your can put a small razor blade...anyone used that before ?Originally posted by Gordonator:i always wanted to know which company made the lao jiao boots?
