  i heard from ppl that whenever u call up the saf hotline, dont ever mention the words "i cannot take it anymore" cuz that time my fren tell me got 1 trainee as RP said that and then locked insside woodbridge for few days. must write report to get him out

  Armored Engineer is a hybrid of Combat Engineer & Armored Trooper...it's also known as Armored Pioneer...
  Sit in M113 do stuff like set wire obstacle, minefields, etc...

  I'm a pc formerly from 30sce. There is really no ill treatment over. The most is just more physical training. Definitely no peeing in the drain and swim across...

  ya no ill treatment but that place very regimental and always tio tekan 1.
  And no admin time, only like 30min for the whole platoon to bath very tiring.
  Little mistake they can tekan u till sian. This bk out only my platoon do hundred over pushups.

  Wait till you go outfield.. I remember getting 400+ pushups at a go in FBO + rifle followed by 45 counts of alt. leg thrusts and 45 counts jumping jacks during my CEC outfield. All the way w/o recovering and in FBO + rifle... Now things are a lot better.. The old sadist specs all ORD already..

  SOCE is fun leh.... u all dunno how to enjoy
  last time really gotta carry bridge, but now not really la
  stores are heavy, but manageable, dont worry
  just watch out,
  dont injure your backs,
  dont get cut by concentina/barb wire
  dont hammer your thumbs while hammering pin
  dont smash your toes if u handle very heavy stuff
  we deal with lotsa explosives. Follow instructions
  
  tekan tekan lo....
  kanna tekkan is shag la....
  but wont die ma
  when they 'pump' u until u really no more strength and gotta do 'snake-style' pushup, they also cannot say anything
  
  i kanna tekkan b4
  and tekkan ppl before
  
  its part of NS life...
  such 'bitterness' brings 'sweetness' and memories

  wa...if i were u i sure cannot take it 1, i havent do pushups in FBO b4, think i shouldn't complaint so much

  Aiya, no need to complain one la, compare to good old days.
  
  In olden days we construct f**king heavy 5 bay MGB almost everyday, now carry light STB.
  In olden days we fence minefield using iron priket and butt wire, now use plastic pole and tape.
  In olden days we construct 2E+24+LRS using human power, now we use crane.
  In olden days we lay minefield using hand and chankol, now use autominelayer.
  In olden days, one got 1 in hundred chance of getting yourself blown up by those old tech AT and AP mines, now newer landmine even come with safe button.
  In olden days we tekan pioneer by ordering them to carry 6 landmines everywhere they go, now only pushup
  In olden days we tekan pioneer by ordering them run extended SOC with FBO with dummy rifle and grenade
  I doubt nowadays pioneer known how to construct bradly or acrow panel bridge by hand
  
  Look at the bright side, you have fun playing with all kinds of explosive, better then firecrackers.

  I agree with Bigballs11. Nowadays not so siong like last time. I remember few years back during my ict exercise in tekong, I saw recruits doing route march in vest/slack SBO helmet rifle! WTF!!
  I did my Ns back in the early 90s, was in 35SCE. Believe me,those were the siong days.But once you get adapted and numb to the tekkaning, you won't feel anything.

  . running around the field with 2 dummy anti-tank mines
  . doing 200 pushups follow by 150 counts of 8 jumping jacks
  . knuckle push-ups on road surface
  . running around with mates carrying assault boats
  . construct bridge with only half a platoon strength
  . duckwalk/rabbit hop around the field
  
  But I've ROD a better and more responsible man.
  Always an Engineer and proud to be one
  Engineers all the way!

  Section Infantry Pioneer is OK la, no need to do 12-bay MGB, lay large minefield, dig BCP command post by hand. Just manage your stores, probe some minefield, lay STB. At most dig some "sai kang" for the company usage.
  
  I remember every trainee volunteer to join the Airforce pioneer platoon once they end their suffering in SOCE. Really relax vocation, just maintain airstrip using the Bobcat, not to mention it's a 5days 9-5 job.

  SOCE - What's up with the practice of calling Staff Sgts "sir"? Damn bloody pretentious place. And the combat engineer music video...Pleeeeeeease ... have some standards.

  Imagine
  3 months BMT
  3 months SISPEC Support
  5 months SISPEC Engineer
  4 months Armour Engineer Conversion
  Total spend 15 months as trainee, might as well go for Officer Cadet Course at only last 12 months including BMT
