i have a fren who called the hotline to complain about a certain sgt. next day CSM came down and asked who called. my fren eventually admitted to calling, and the sgt wanted to charge him with insurbodination.
basically what happened was the sgt made a sick guy worse. let's just say he lost half his manhood. -

Conclusion:Better dun call unless it ABSOLUTE necessary!!

Very true.Sometimes, going through the chain of command is not very practical, if the person you are complaining about and your immediate superior are buddies.If your superior is not impartial enough, and your case is not heard and the situation worsens, what then is the recourse?Realistically, can a mere recruit ever know enough about the system to find himself some help?No.Even lao jiaos like us still have many queries about the SAF.
Impartialism and professionalism must form the priority of every man, spec and officer in the SAF if everyone is to b guaranteed fair and equal treatment.Treat others as you would like others to treat you.I really feel sorry for those NSFs who are bullied, abused by higher-ups and run into a brick wall when they go through the chain of command.If they take the brave step of writing a letter to their MP, they are co-opted and charged.What the hell is this?This is mere abuse and usage of a very loose definition of insubordination.If the complaints are heard and resolved promptly and fairly, these unfortunate events might have been avoided.
So, guys, please treat your men well, and keep an eye out for other troopers who are not under you as well.We are all soldiers and we wear the green, be it for 2 years or 20 years.But each is a human being with feelings, a life and emotional capabilities that differ amongst individuals.Surely it is not hard to be a real man and assist the ones in trouble and help the desperate?Let us all serve our time in peace and ensure we leave the army with a sane mind and healthy emotions. -

This consuelling hotline is of no use.
I have a friend who suffered slight depression during confinement period in Tekong and he called the hotline but the consuellor on the phone doesn't seems to be willing to talk to him and when my friend requests to talk to consueller one to one in person the consuellor on the phone said that he needs to get MO's permission to talk to a consuellor. And you know how Tekong's MO is like. -

Fully agree with everyone's saying... SAF cannot make it. No matter what u do is correct or wrong, as long as anyone see u buay song, they will find ways to charge u or let u sign extra... I myself cannot wait to ORD... 4 more months of hell to go before i can become a bird and fly outside the world.

you have a rather prejudiced view against the organisation and all its people based on your own short personal experience, which i take it that wasnt too pleasant. for this, i thought it was totally regrettable. however, please do not generalise and think that everybody in the organisation behaves like those who did wrong to you. in any case, these people could only make you sign extra. when you go out into the real world, similar people would have much more ways and means to backstab you without you knowing. do take note.Originally posted by aajax:Fully agree with everyone's saying... ^^^ Agree - SAF is seriously shielded which account for how some totally incompetent people can still survive.
Back to topic, i have no experience about SAF hotline, but you can try Mindef? In BMT someone sent mindef a fax pertaining to perceived ill treatment and the results were quick. However, the person who sent the fax did include name so i suspect that they will not entertain anonymous Tipoffs.
Anyway you must have a valid reason for staying out. Girl friend problems simply dun count imo. And even if you have a valid reason, the most you might hope for is a stay out pass that allows you to stay out say 2 nights a week. IE Tues, Thurs. -

there was once mt fren faced a difficulty in camp
it was abt a CMI sgt in my platoon
then he went up chain of command told the PS 1st
then also no use
he then went up to the PC
then also no use
then finally the OC
the problem was not even resolved
and he kenna blacklisted in the coy
thou all the rest know it`s the sgt`s PROBLEM
NO one CARES!
