it is not as easy nowadays. if you like to extend your short-term contract, you would need to perform to certain standards and go through interviews. its not entirely your decision. and the duration of the contract is also up to them. and btw, it is quite common for a specialist to earn more than an officer of the same age early in their career.Originally posted by nightzip:hmm...to me, its better to convert to officer.
why? well, you can sign on for 6-9 years, so after that contract, you can choose again whether you want to continue or not. so, its just as flexible, if you stick with being a spec, go check your maths, you will loose out TENS of thousands of dollars, and less prospect.![]()
