Do they take this into consideration for OCS ???

  Lets say if you are an ex ncc member...would they take this into consideration during selection for OCS? my cousin said he went for medical checkup and the DOC ask him if he was from ncc. what was that for??

  the doctor doing your medical checkup will not be able to influence whether or not you go to ocs. so i guess it's not pertinent to you.
  
  and whether or not you were ncc also does not matter.
  
  what matters is what you do during bmt.

  Not to tar all NCC people with the same brush, but some recruits with NCC experience i.e CLTs and such, think they have a higher chance to go tto OCS.Gee..

  Just my opinion, but i find ex- boy scouts much better prepared and trained to handle the rigors of army life than ex-ncc cadets, esp when outfield. Perhaps its got to do with the training the scouts receive. On the other hand, it didn't appear to me that ex-ncc pple performed any better than pple from other ECAs.
  
  Anyway previous ECA is not impt for ocs selection lah, i got friends who were from library, drama and stuff. In fact, only had 1 ncc guy in my platoon, and he wasn't even like CLT or SSG during sec school NCC. People are assessed based on their KAQ (knowledge, abilities and qualities) rather than their interests (ECA).

  Though being from a uniformed group usually means he is more prepared towards a regimental lifestyle, and may have some prior knowledge on certain stuff..thus increasing the chances of him performing better..
  But over at CMPB's side, CCAs won't matter..

  It used to be that those with prior NCC experience gets a headstart towards competing for Best Soldier (or Best PT or Best Shot, et al) in BMT. IMO That's the OCS link, lah, in terms of your performance standing out from the other recruits.
