making a false declaration or not making a declaration when one is supposed to reflects lack of integrity, one of the key attributes officers should have.
so the consequences are for you to imagine. -
Seeing that the gahmen has anti-gay stance, it is unlikely a gay will be promoted into the highest ranks (ie COL, BG, MG).
Who knows, there might be some obscure SAF law that can get you charged for not honestly declaring your sexual orientation (malingering?)... though there probably isn't.
As always, SAF golden rule applies: Do wat you want, but dun get caught

The SAF unofficially adopts the same approach as the Americans: Don't ask, don't tell. While homosexuality is still officially regarded as a medical disorder by the SAF, in recent years, there has been a relative reflection of the social acceptance of homosexuals. Remember former PM Goh said that even the government was currently admitting open homosexuals to mid and high ranking positions.
So I guess as long as your behavior or lifestyle does not cause scandal and bring disrepute to the SAF, it is a non-issue to your career advancement. How old are you BTW? -
