heck! i'm a combat medic by vocation.. a slipped disc and an operation for it caused me to be downgraded to C2L3 from A...
not combat fit, not supposed to be deployed outside the camp... but it's been 7 years... and still, i'm going back for my ICT, fully kitted, part of the battery, but not deployed at all...
so, when the whole battery goes for the exercise or anything, i just wander back to the bunk and catch up on my sleep

Bring along your full pack (dump it in your car boot, or tompang with someone else's), & play it by ear after inprocessing.
Strictly speaking, PES C9 refers only to being excused from taking IPPT, & you'll likely meet a lot of fellow reservists who're similarly benefited, like medical board cases & those with endorsed MCs, etc. Believe me, something like 2/5s of the unit will "cheer" on the test participants from the sidelines once everyone ages into the late 20somethings ~lol~
The thing with reservist is that, unlike active-time, downgraded soldiers tend to carry on as per normal (instead of changing vocations) - particularly with non-infantry units. They won't even get deployed to join the rations truck, for example. So I'm guessing you'll likely stick to being a medic, except I dunno if if your unit uses a "service medic" or at least some rear-echelon appointment that'll tally with your L2 status. Remember, you're technically still fit for some field duties so perhaps there's be a halfway compromise like an ex-signaller colleague of mine, who kena downgraded & ended up permanently attached with the unit ambulance. Lucky dude, cuz he gets to enjoy the air-con (supposedly) & gains daily access to newspapers.
Only L3 status is completely excused from field duties, though there remains a slight chance you could end up as lobo personnel if your unit role is insignificant enough that the unit "forgets" about you. In which case, just stay in the bunk & report attendance when prompted, lah. Nice way to rest & earn "free" money from the SAF.
