How to apply for deferment?

  Hi, I am 19 this year (2005) & I just graduated from ITE last year. I received an enlistment letter this afternoon asking me to report for enlistment on March 11. I wanted to continue my studies in Higher NITEC or poly (if possible). So I am wondering if I am allowed to apply for deferment. Any kind souls can enlighten me how to defer?

  last time your bro have to serve 2.5 year because he poly. if he enlisted with only ITE certification he would serve 2 years. now everyone serve 2 years

  he aso received a ns letter that post the camp and the time to reach there.....
  Then he defer at last year feb and that time he was 18....
  then he waited untill the july intake for poly....
  now 19

  Once defered online in my ITE days.

  try calling CNPB to ask for more info. my advice is go study first then go

  I believe NS deferment, as a policy, is only officially granted if you commence your academic course (ITE, IHL; local, overseas) before you turn 17.5 years old. Thereafter, it's enlistment first & study later.
