how come some receive letters for interview ?

i noticed some poly classmates receiving a letter asking them to go back for some interview
waht's it abt ? ear-marked for ocs ? -

Yup - vocational interview. The moment I got mine, I knew I had been arrowed for CDO. That just made me feel so special!

anywaes...means the elite forces need bodies...so they pick at random PES A enlistees that fit their requirement... -

these persons were chosen for the interviews purely on the basis of their physical employment status, perhaps napfa results and some other familial factors. that is so that they do not censor off potential candidates too soon. whether they eventually pass the selection would be secondary.Originally posted by bismarck:oh yes..now wuming has reminded me..

The next week I got a letter saying I was going to CDO, and THEN I found out that my attitude was exactly what they were looking for. Go figure. -

interviewers got alot of experience picking trainees arh...they'll know if u fit the bill really....
sometimes its in the way u look at them....
sometimes its in the way u talk to them.....

Yeah, well, I suppose that's why I was a marked man for the first six weeks of BMT. After that, I had a quiet chat with my section commander, and said that there was obviously something wrong that I was doing, but damned if I could figure out what that was. He mumbled some answer and left, but he left me alone after that.
Anyway, it's all good. Gutted it out, got the beret, lived happily ever after.

Actually, come to think of it, I got a letter from the Air Force to sit some tests for the pilot training program. After I did the test, I didn't hear back from them until about two months before getting my red beret. I told the recruiting officer, "Don't call me, I'll call you", and hung up. Never regretted it either.
