I have already asked my chief clerk and she says only corporals to be can disrupt( as in those that are going to server > 2 years). I know that dip holders [b]most likely will get promoted to corporal (how many % exactly , anyone know?), but can i apply to disrupt now, or get a letter to say that i am applicable to disrupt??[/b] -
Well, there's a directive lying around the MINDEF Intranet concerning this matter.But personally,I've not seen any disruptee with more than 6mths service owed to the SAF.

Diploma holders will get their CPL unless their vacation is stated in the DOV(Directory Of Vocations) as being a LCP estab.The promotion to CPL is almost guaranteed save for disciplinary breaches , like DB and etc..

dun think what your CC told you is true leh....tot as long as you have valid reasons can disrupt right? ESPECIALLY for studies????
i dun know if the mindef directive got such thing as only corporals and above can disrupt due to studies?? then abit biased liao le...right?

yo...dun blow things big...
think you can gather all your details and forms and evidence and quickly show to the CC, and S1.
they will review your case, and most prob...get you promoted to corporal by next month or so or help you with the disruption process....w/o need of corporal rank.
but ofcuz you need to see your CC and S1 asap with all your proof.
think disruption is nothing much lah...like ptp disrupt then later come to bmt also ok rite?
but think of later consequence, like most prob. you may not join back your unit when you come back after your studies...etc, but again you can ask your S1 or CC to put you in IHL list so that you remain in your unit for NS, i.e. if you want...

I doubt anyone here has experienced this situation before. I have never heard of anyone not being able to disrupt when the disruption date is only 3 months before the ord date. However, since i'm not a clerk, that isn't saying much.
My advice is to take the initiative and make noise. Call mindef and ask for advice, tell the Chief Clerk your problem and ask her if there is a solution. If she is unhelpful, request to speak to S1. If he is unhelpful, call G1.
As you are undoubtedly aware, the SAF is afflicted with institutional laziness and apathy. Therefore, the road ahead will be tough. You just gotta keep yourself motivated and never give up. -

I got the same letter. My clerk says I am not eligible for disruption because you can only apply 3 mths before the date you going to disrupt and you will need to serve a minimal of 20 mths (for me) before they will disrupt you. For me, I will not served at least 20 mths when I apply in April so most likely.. will not be sucessful.. thus I choose to study in 2006/2007.
However, I email NUS and they said it is possible to to revert your choice if you managed to get your disruption. Thus, best option is to defer 1st because if you are not able to get your disruption and enter this year, you will lose your place. -

nope.. my clerk says they based the decision on the date you submit the application, not the date you going to disrupt. CPC will approve. It is better to defer the place 1st because you never know whether you can get it or not. Once you got the disruption, you can just email NUS to tell them you are going in this year.

if u did not complete any major offences.. by right.. it should go thru... u only have to serve the minimal months and wait for CPC....
