OCS, SISPEC. to go or not to go???!!!

wld u people recommand one to go SISPEC or OCS? i feel its like enering hell if u go these 2 places...

going to command school is good. it depends, different people different views. if u process leadership quality and is confident u can lead, why not?
but then if u are worried about the physical training over there, it's not much different as being a man where they also must chiong suah.
btw, what do u get for IPPT? -
but the training and the life there? its 100times worse den bmt.. the tekaning and stand by universe...

1. those who die die want to go to OCS, and do their best and well, get what they want.
2. those who are more nonchalant, but ended up in OCS anyway.
as is clear, the first batch of people are highly motivated cause of their aim. the reasons for that aim are another story.
for the second, its more like - if have go lor, if not also never mind.
so in asking your question, you seem to imply that you are not in the first batch, but at the same time, you have a choice too. chances are, you do have certain influence, but the decision in the end lies with your superiors. so if you cannot find reasons to motivate yourself like the first group of people, whether you end up in OCS (or SISPEC for that matter) may not be up to you. i dont think if we recommend going to these schools, you would suddenly find a strong desire for them. if you had this desire, this question wouldnt even have came up.
so after all that, the first question should be why you want to go to these schools, if you want to at all. we cant help you with that. perhaps after that, we can then examine (if it is still meaningful) what goes on in these schools - whether its hell or not. -

anyway the training will definitely be tough - i dont think you would expect any less since these are schools that produce commanders of our armed forces. many have gone through them before you, and many more will do so after you. so its not an insurmountable challenge.
so is this going to influence your decision?
in the end, why do you even consider going to these schools? what are your reasons for "thinking" of going for them? -
after going thru with a combat unit in my ns, i would say i want to be a man, instead of a commander
Unless of course you become an instructor or something. -
You may choose not to go SISPEC/OCS by stating that you don't want to be a commander.
Or, you do half f*ck in SIT test.
Anyway, not only in SISPEC you will be promote to sergeant. -

Leadership comes naturally as the situation arises and your superiors will be able to identify pple with command potential. Anyway, it's not your choice whether u get to go ocs/sispec, it's not like applying for jc/poly after your o levels..
So i guess the best advice for u is just to do your best and dun worry about whether u can lead or take the training or not. -

but as a man, u will get to do those physical n endurance training for the rest of your NS life. -
Whether where u go, the training will be tough. Be it SISPEC or OCS or just being a man. Life becomes better after u get ur rank and if u go support arms, best!!

Well in OCS you have plenty of time to practice your leadership skills. However having got to a combat unit, leading men is another story. Good luck. -
If you really want to see if you have the right stuff, don't go OCS... either go to SISPEC Foxtrot, or if you're really crazy, SISPEC Goof (no typo) coy...
