Vocation Assignment (Pasir Ris Camp)

  hi all, i just received a letter asking me to report to pasir ris camp sometime next month, anyone noe what i'll be doing there? What vocation huh, not Commando right? coz heard Commando is at hendon camp.... anyone noe??

  sianz..to what i noe is a new cdo camp haha...actually i'm in the process of signing up as a pilot, i'm confuesd whether i should go anot

  heard a lot of this pasir ris camp lately. just wanna get this clear, the commandos in hendon camp moved to pasir ris camp liao or is it pasir ris camp a new commando camp?

  oh.. think you should still go, but indicate to them while you are there that you are signing on as a pilot.

  pasir ris camp is a new camp...for commandos...it doesnt replace hendon...it just supplements it...

  hmmm...do we still need to go tekong for BMT or do we just go straight to CDO camp huh?? coz to what i noe, if i sign my piolt contract, i ill have to get selected for OCS before i can go for air grading. so if i go for this vocation assignment, will it slim down my chance of sign on as pilot

  Commando-trained fighter pilot...Pro man...Can be the pioneer RSAF Special Ops trooper.
  
  But seriously,let them know and keep them updated.Normally I don't think the SAF will waste time sending a pilot applicant through CDO BMT.Or if you make it in BMT, and your application is successful, you could be shipped out to OCS and converted to Air Wing.

  i've a friend, who enlisted as cdo, then go pilot program for a few months, but got kick out after australia phase, then go back become cdo.

  From what i understand from my CDO friends when i was in airgrading.
  
  Normally, those CDOs selected for airgrading, they would be released to the air force either 6 months into their CDO service or 6 months before they ORD.
  
  My CDO friends all belonged to the latter category.

  hmm...Hendon camp is where the Fully Operational Cdos are stationed
  
  Pasir Ris camp which is a new camp is where the Cdo trainees receive their training...tink tis camp is called special warfare tactics school too...

  sounds cool, so they will share the camp with quite a number of ppl, 10 SIB, 56 SAB and with the new CDO training there, should be a rather condusive environment, but does it take away the feeling of training in Hendon Camp ? Especially the Parade Square in Hendon, where the Winged Bayonet overlooks the parade square.

  I thought 3 SIR was about to shift to PRC? Since when did the Cdos take over the place?

  urm... am unsure about ur question, but when i went there last week, the entrance says **SIB(infantry Brigade) and **SAB(Armoured Brigade)

  you will be a cdo trainee in pasir ris camp...it's a new camp..once u got ur beret, then u will go to hendon...take care n all the best

  10 SIB, my former unit. Thought it's been broken up?
