izzit wise to sign on as a MP? how will be the training like?
i applied for MP under JPSDS..issit possible for me to chiong to be an officer?
also, how will be the training like and wat are the job scope of a MP?
understand that MP will be guard duty, is the police of the army and will take part in parade and some will go to PDS... -

well, i'm impressed by MP as last time in NCC, did the precision drills before n it is very smart...so interest is there la...now waiting for the reply from mindef. -

That's why if you look at the recruitment pages,MP do not have a officers direct entry scheme unlike the other vocations.So even if a degree holder wants to be a MP,he can only be a specialist and a senior warrant at most.
Anyways i had gone to their recruitment talk and have a chance to talk with an MP warrant officer,he said that MP do lots of physical exercise everyday such as running. -
There is no MP officer vocations. The MP officers u see are mostly from infantry or other combat units. When u sign on as a mp, you'll sign on as a specialist.
After your BMT, you will go to sispec to get your corporal rank and then go through spec 2 course which includes chiong sua...section movement... at provost for three months to get your sergeant rank. Then you will get your posting. There are various companies in provost. you will go through your tour around the companies. some of the MP's job include parade and ceremonies, Silent precision drillls, dog unit and etc.. If u want to do PDS,be mentally prepared. Most likely you would have to complete your AR15 drills training b4 ebmarking on SPDS. Both are equally tough. But u will do AR15 drills if only u are posted to apc. if you have tattoo 0r criminal record, you wont be accepted.
Life is not bad in provost, but i can tell you it gets pretty monotonous after some time....Don't sign on becoz u want to do PDS....you regret it...might as well use giordano umbrella and rotate it.....
MP training is only tough when u get posted to APC....after training phase in APC, everything will be ok liao. -

actually, all depends on your interest... but as mp usually is specialist... and as specialist u can only aim for WO....those commisioned officer usually from other formation then post there one... so if u want go mp straight away, got to sign as spec... when i was there, from wat i noe spec life is very static... and those spec i spoke to all say very sian... like wat the others had said, your path will be bmt->sispec->mpspec-> post to various vocations... think properly b4 sign on...Originally posted by kentheman:izzit wise to sign on as a MP? how will be the training like?

anyway not really sign on for their spds la...juz have the interest in there lo..be in ceremonies and stuff...still trying to consider my options...
