forgotten enlistees??

I heard from my teacher in junior college that, one of his ex-students waited for one full year but didn't hear anything from MINDEF about enlistment..
are there really such cases of enlistees who have been forgotten accidentally? -

we graduated together from poly last yr May 2004
then some of us enlisted in june, aug n sept n oct but he totally no news...
then he called up CMPB in oct,
then the guys there said they will look into it
finally he was called up in dec. haha! -
ya. i heard before also. 1 sgt from my unit. cmpb didn't call him up for NS. so he go for university studies. after completing university, then got call up to enlist for army.

I have friends who graduated from the poly in Nov 2003 (He spent 3 and the half years in poly because he failed some modules and needs to repeat) and he was supposed to be called up to army in either Dec 2003 or Feb 2004 but to no avail. Finally he got called up in June 2004.
So sometimes I feels lucky that I belongs to the June batch in which I can ORD earlier.

I remember back in BMT there was this one guy who showed up on enlistment day with his enlistment letter and all his documents. Due to some fantastic admin screw-up, however, he didn't seem to have an assigned bed, section, platoon or even company.
He approached my PS, who had to call up the other company having enlistment that day, chase a lot of people for answers, toss HQ BMTC upside down and practically move heaven and earth in trying to figure out where the guy belonged to.
He eventually joined my platoon. -
2 forgotten guys in my bunk.
1 was simply forgottten, he even managed to go sailing for 2 years. eventually returned to complete his NS coz he was getting old and it's hard to get a visa without completing NS at his age.
the other one was due to some admin cockups at the medical centre? they probably left his folder somewhere and no one say it till over a year later.
i think a large number of admin cock ups are due to medical reports, CMPB sends them to the MOs are forgets about them, the MOs ORD and forgets about them. they probably get left sitting there for 1-2 years tilll some hardworking just P/Oed MO comes along and clears the stack. -
lesson learnt. always let a garang/responsible person do this kind of thing in order to avoid more admin cock ups.

That's nothing.I had a platoon mate who enlisted at the age of 25.He has his own business too.Lol.
