i known a 2LT was sent to DB for forging the CO signature when he come out of DB he was demoted. Can't remember was it PTE or CPL.....but pathetic especially if u have been a "big shot" or "how lian" officer. Now u even have to listen to a SG which may last time under u or worst if the CPL is more liao jiao than u

Anyway i kinda remember being told that once an officer is sentenced to DB or imprisonment, he is automatically 'decommissioned'.
i think recently there's a case of an LTC abusing his position to award contracts to external companies.. dunno what's (or what will be) the outcome of the trial.
It'll be interesting to see how such senior officers cope in DB.. heehee..

Actually from my friend which is an officer, told me that only the president can strip of the officer rank. But when 2LT is a probation period then you can be decomission but once u attain LTA and above, then only the president can strip u of the rank so i think that's why the commando case have to be trial in the a civilian court.

i heard that the most u can end up in db is max 2yrs for charges higher dan 2 yrs u go civilian prison rite...oso if u end up in civilian prison b4 or after ns ur exempted from ns...is it true??

My unit has one guy who had been AWOL for about 2 years, which must be some kind of record I think, and he only just returned to be charged and sent to DB a few weeks ago. I've also heard of this case from my CSM of this guy who AWOL only two days before ORD, which is really no point. I wonder what that guy was thinking. Perhaps he wasn't in his right mind.
Speaking of demotion, my battalion has this guy who used to be a regular 2SG, but for some reason (I think it was fighting), got sent to DB. He got demoted to CPL and is now the RSM PA. -
