How does one becom a clerk or Medic officer in the army? I dun think I like the other vocations other than these 2

2 basic steps:
1) Get a degree in medcine.
2) Sign on.

you walk the same distance as your fellow infantry soldiers, plus u need to carry stretcher and your medic bag, not forgetting your weapon

I once had 2 combat medics under me, on top of the training they did, they still had medical centre duties to attend to.

and one of the training u get is to poke your buddy with needles

Actually to be a MO u don't have to sign on....if u got into medical school, after BMT you can disrupt to study medicine then come back to SAF and to be trained as a MO which included attending MOCC and OCS. After that combat fit MO will get the CPT rank and non combat fit MO will get the LTA rank.
As for combat medic it is now more trained in the peace time role which is why you will be tought paramedic. Which consist of the 2 phase.....but the poking part is true lot of poking with needle.

i guess how often u go out to field depend on unit.....MO in commando also have to go through airborne course
