I'm not from artillery - but i want to say that I'm impressed with the firepower of the 155mm guns. Many years ago, in Taiwan, we were on a live fire execise to attack and capture hills (as usual). This time we had a 155mm unit providing support fire. And as we waited at a distance away at our form up location, we could see the impact and blast from the 155mm rounds fired from the arti unit. This was followed up by our battalion mortar fire - which was nothing compared to the 155mm guns. It drove a clear message to us - even if you don't die when artillary hits - you will still be too shocked to fight. We could see the craters created from the 155 rounds on the top of the objective too.

if you oil the barrel heavily before firing the the gun at night, u will see flames shooting out of the barrel when it fires.......truly beautiful, like a dragon sprouting fire
