Previously, yes that's what I heard also, esp when they changed the rank from those on the sleeves to epaulette types u see nowadays. What I like to do is to either flick the front and back ends of my jungle hat and wear them like a cow boy, or let them all flop down naturally around my head to look like a boy with an oversized hat. I prefer the latter, since it shades my eyes more...
The rest of us are divided between the two different wearing styles... Meanwhile, some of the commanders like it with the chin strap hanging loose behind their heads, and others tie it up like i-don't-know-what.
And leading the whole lot is a PC whom have not yet gone for his Recce Commander Course. His beret is so neatly creased that it looks like it was pasted onto his head... The other PC is now suffering at SMI for the hat :-)
I got heartache when I saw normal riflemen wearing the hat over at Lancer. I think that was before the CO passed the order restricting the whole affair to "reconnaissance trained personnel" — that means officers can't wear them too in my camp. -

well, there is an entry and an exit, meaning if there is someone wearing that helmet, would have died. -

the one on the left was the camouflage we have now, the center was the inner liner and the one the right was the camouflage used by the CDO in the early days. -

too bad, the kevlar which was used as target on the same day was not with me now. my CSM took it and kept with him. same 5.56 has penatrated it well and nice. -

camon, 1 day in the field, we can find all kinds of equipment that our CQ have in his... if my man lost any FE or some CE in the field, they dun sign 1206 at all for i can cover for them but they have to sign my "bible" very cheap oni, cost oni 3 X weekend. -
