i dunno abt guards..was reading abt it just now..Originally posted by Patrik:Guards?
well. not everyone gets to the elite vocations - they are not called elite for nothing. but we must also realise, not all the best ones go to these elite groups, and not all those who go there are the best.Originally posted by bismarck:i thought abt this after hearing my friend got picked for commando interview..
i wasnt jealous or angry when i heard it because i nvr expected to be selected anyway. if saf picked me....sure die. there goes cdo reputation liao.
ok main point. i was thinking, when i enlist (now in 3rd year poly) i want to be different. not that i am putting down ppl frm infantry, etc. but i dont want to be just another enlistee, just another recruit, just another private.( i am not putting down the recruits or privates because i havent even enlist, so u are like a few levels abv me already)
neither do i mean tat i want to be in SOF, spies (just watched 007) or CT. i just want to do something that i can remember after i ORD and be proud both doing it and after i ORD.
this may just be another of kp story frm pre-enlistees,

Elite vocations are elite, and if you can handle the tough regimen there, you might enjoy it eventually because of the challenges you will face there.Keep you chin up no matter where you end up.If you wish to slack, make sure you do not inadvertantly cause trouble for your mates.Stay safe and alive. You are after all, a NSF.There will be many things which you will have learnt in the service , which you will realise when your stint is coming to an end.
Good luck for your NS.Cheers.![]()

well. theres nothing to be ashamed of if one is not chosen for VA. anyway its just an assessment, not a confirmation. furthermore, there are various reasons (other than fitness) that influence whether or not one is called up for VA. hence my postulation that "not all the best goes to the elite units, and not all those who go to such units are the best".Originally posted by [w][e][i]:Perhaps if u did well during yr bmt in tekong then u can become an officer or a sergeant leh.. then at least you have something to remember rite? hmmm.. i also 3rd yr at poly... actually i have the same feeling as u coz 2 of my clsmate in cls already selected for va then they were suaning me that i was PES A- (coz i also pes A) but i did not get va... quite disappointedbut judging from their results and fitness level, i know that i'm better then them, so nothing to sad abt..
