SAF General/Admiral/ Field Marshal: 4-Star ONLY IN WAR-TIME?

Don't think we'll ever have a CDF from the navy..
I think the only non-army CDF we ever had was Bey Soo Khiang, from the air force. And i believe that was the one and only time there was a non-army 3-star general in the SAF.
Rear Admiral (Upper-Half) 2 stars
When we get a Vice-Admiral for the RSN and more Lt-Gens for the RSAF , then and only then it might be possible to speculate on any full General coming up. -

if u all look closely at the ranks of generals in the SAF (provided u can get so close to him), the design is very different, the stars are like poping up.
the no.4 doesn't pop up though..boring rank..can't see much anyway

4 star = General
5 star = Field Marshall -
5 star is a US army rank. It is only given during war time. The rank is called General of the Army.
Previous recipients include MacArther, Eisenhower, Marshall, Nimitz during the second world war.
In the UK rank system, there is an equivalent rank called Field Marshall. -
The general epaulettes for the formal uniforms are even more zai... the whole epaulette is golden colour. i was told before that CDF is a 3 star general because each star represent the 3 forces he commands. army, RSAF and RSN.

Well based on wat I heard, when they were doing a div level exercise a few years back..the current CDF beat the previous CDF(who's now perm sec of MOE?) based on his strategy..

CDF got to be the highest ranking officer in SAF without any military badges. don't be fooled by his physical appearance. the man fights with his brains.

Who knows the SAF might want to call a 4 stars General as "Senior General" and a 5 stars general as "General Mentor"

How to have an effective general if you keep on changing the COA/CNA/CAF/CDF all the time?
And technically the army is a full corps (3 stars), so + airforce + navy should be 4 star general liao..
i think it's the govt deliberately want to keep the army under their control, that's why they have this practices.. -
so many talk on the stars. so does anyone know where will these star holder be when there is a war?
the CDF, COA, C-NAVY and C-AIR all will be in some room/s
who know who is the front line officer (3rd highest command) or what i call field commander. (CGO will not be in the list as he will be somewhere in the front as well)
i remember during a T.E.W.T. Ex. he throw situations to all the COs who attended that Ex. no one can give him one good answer.
there is one where i till now still remember it vividly. i will not say much about what's the situation like. the answer he gave was that "winning a battle does not win you the war" for this, he had decided to give away 1 whole battalion. guess how do all the CO face turn to?
