Your chance of future employment is as good as others, no worriesOriginally posted by psyphase:Damn it! i just got my PES status, E1L9. Can i know is my chance of future employment much lower?
Also, how long before enlistment, the duties, salary, working hours, uniform, which camp, etc?
How will my colleagues be like?
Can i be upgraded to higher rank, etc?
Will i be discriminated or looked down upon?![]()

for a E1L9, you will most probably be a clerk or a storeman. this is dependent on your medical condition, educational qualification plus the vocational deployment from CPC. Salary wise (sorry it is a stipend), you will have rank pay + vocational allowance. It will most likely be 8 to 5 bue depnedent on unit requirements. As to which camp, it is kind of like a luck thing.Originally posted by psyphase:Damn it! i just got my PES status, E1L9. Can i know is my chance of future employment much lower?

If you are an ASA or SA, the promotion depends on your educatioal level.ITE and 'O' level holders will be promoted to LCP around 6-9 months before ORD, whereas 'A" level and Diploma holders will be promoted to the rank of CPL.IF you are of a "scholar" ability, you might end up in MINDEF as a Project Clerk or Project Specialist.Though I'm not sure if these vocations still exist, or they pluck from the ASA ranks, these guys have a chance at becoming a 3SG aka Admin Specialist. Then again, if you're ASA, your boss can also recommend you for the Basic Admin Supervisor course, which goes down the same path as the former.Originally posted by smile:
Your chance of future employment is as good as others, no worries, enlistment wise I'm not that sure, vocation wise most probably as an ASA ( Admin Support Assistant) or a Storeman, working hours of yours would probably be an 8 - 5 one meaning no stay-ins or regimental duties for you. You'll be dressed in No.3 uniform. About camp location, that's up to CPC to decide for you, hopefully you'll be in a camp near where you stay.
, Hmm, about BMT you'll be going for a Pes E induction program at BMTC which lasts for 5days at Tekong. No weapon training, physical activites, ippt , soc, etc for you that I'm sure.
Your colleagues will vary I say, for the SAF is a big place with many different personalities., Upgraded to higher rank as in? Chances of promotion I assume for you? Yes you will be promoted, but sad to say promotion in SAF for PES E dudes are slower as compared to Pes A/B/C
About being discriminated upon on, NO! You wouldn't be discriminated upon on, certainly not by me, it's just a PES grading remember no matter what, you're still contributing to the country dude!
