Do u now the name of this sniper gun?

it is Armor Piercing and it has made it appearrence in AD 2000 where the Hong Kong police escort the guy then when the escort reached the entrance of the carpark there was one sniper firing at them...the gun he's using i want to know its name...the gun barrel end almost look like the Halo and Halo 2 sniper gun one.....anyone know?

but the only think i dont understand is that the guy fired abt 30 rounds without changing mags...the manufactorer of the above gun say its 10 per mag... -

It a barret Light 50. M82A1, use by US special forces in gulf war 1, blow up saddam's jeeps amoured cars and stuff, not really used for sniping pp. Production ceased in 1992. Uses a 50.cal round, the sort use on machine guns mounted on US tanks. Has turned up in terrorist use in Northern Ireland. Range 1000m+, most snipers would prefer a bolt action rifle as the round can travel further.

but i thought that since its .50 BMG its range is damn long right? and yea semi atuo snipers arent that bad yea know....like the PSG-1 and the MSG-90...those are good ones...dunno if army haf or nt...only seen and fired the steyr SSG

hoho, the light 50 is a monster man........only train people can fire it accurately due to it's ultra strong recoil...

Heard from a couple of .50cal shooters the recoil of a .50cal rifle is that of a 12 gauge shotgun, of course that's because of the muzzle brake. Without it I think its gonna hurt... a lot. -

for note, those who do not know what APFSDS means, it means Armour Piercing Fin-Stabilised Discarding Sabot. -
by the way, the Croatian RT-20 fires a 20x110mm Hispano round and the South African Mechem NTW-20 fires either the 20 x 83.5 mm MG151 or the20 x 83.5 mm MG151 round, and all the 3 rounds are also bigger and more powerful than the .50.
and then there are a whole hosts of .50 and 12.7mm chambered rifles. And some of the 12.7mm rounds are not the standard equivalent of the .50 BMG, instead, they're the more powerful 12.7 x 108mm rounds.
so the Barret, awesome as it is, is hardly the most powerful, longest range or highest piercing power rifle in the sniping class. although it currently holds the longest confirmed kill at almost 2km, reportedly made by an IDF sniper. -

looks like bragging right will return to Barret tho. they've developed the Barrett XM109. Fires 25mm rounds apparently.
