Just received my posting order today.. I'm posted to 7SIB as a light strike trooper.. anybody has any idea what will i do?

yup, light-strike is an asset company in brigade or platoon in guards batallion.
in infantry boxer batallion, there may also be a light-strike platoon.
Basically, i believe you are very senang. haahah...
basically, you and another 4 troopers, most. prob. one will be either a PC or sgt, the 5 of you will sit in a jeep/rover with an MMG and AGL mounted.
AGL= automatic grenade launcher, that is, imagine your M203 which is mounted and can fire like 50 rounds per min!!!
thats why they call you all light-strike mah...
can attach and run away very fast, something like giving the enemy a sudden punch like that.

seriously i've got an identity crisis.. i'm under 3 guard.. yet i'm not a guardsman... what am i actually? do i receive the training tht guardsmen get? will it be as tough as the guardsman training?

anywaes my friend got posted to 3rd guards too....as a jeep recce commander...
now going through(from wat he told me) jeep course...then he's going thru recce course...then he'll be taking his GCC....

last time i do is 1). Coastal swim (about 2 clicks +, and with safety jacket somemore, just have to be careful the jelly fishes) no time limit, but i think about 4 hours bah on average.
2). 10 click run (again nothing much, cuz they will ramp up slowing from 6k,7k,8k,9k then 10k run, for men its 60min)
3). again the nothing much heli-live descent, (basically rapelling, again they ramp you up from rapelling wall to mock tower, 2 different heights, then go commando cliff, do different types of rapelling, before live descent on uh1h heli at about 100ft, i.e. drop from 30m from air.) no time limit. -

nothing much if you do them in 10 weeks lah....
not if you do all of them in 1 week!
