me was also in PLAB, SAB and Mindef once, got many PES D and PES E friends.

Because your buddies are also beside you on your left and right, the AOF stick is supposed to create an overlapping fire with you buddies(which a commander must do personally when he assign the location of your trench).
MOST important of all, due to the overlapping fire, the arc of fire stick is to limiit your firing within this arc so that we wont have a blue on blue during the confusion of firing.
