mono intake is for those non-tertiary educated pple to enlist directly into the unit for their unit bmt, as oppose to going to tekong for tekong bmt, then send to vocational courses and then post to units.Originally posted by VTDK:What's a mono intake?
It depends on why you gotten PES E and whether its a perm or temp PES E. Its quite rare for people to be PES upgrade from E though i think and so far i've never heard of anyone who got PES E and wants a higher PESOriginally posted by aiglosicicle:if i am pes E will i be pes E permanently?
HI I chanced upon this website and wanted to ask a few questions. I have ORD since 1998 and have never been called up to reservists due to my PES status which is C2L2 (permanent). It has been 10 years now. recently, I was posted to 3rd Div and was told that I am supposed to go back if there is any open/silent mob. Prior to this, I fainted and fell, got a bad knock have a skull fracture and contusion. Should I go back and tell the MO to review this?

Hi,
I am a NSman who has been diagnosed with Alpha-Thalassemia trait.
My MCV is 74.3fl and MCH is 22.9pg. I also have a Lymphocyte count of 17.1.
I would like to know if I am eligible for a downgrade and if so, how do I go about doing it?
Thank you.

u can get a medical review done by ur reservist unit designated camp medical centre via online ebooking thru the www.ns.sg portal under the eHealth module under the NSman tab.

Hi eac,
Many thanks for answering my query. I was just wondering if you are able to tell me what is the PES status normally assigned to someone who has been diagnosed with my condition.
Thanks again. :)
Hi,
I was recently downgraded to C2L2. Just wondering what it means. Am i still fit for front line duty like infantry? Also can my commander insist that I still participate in their training? i.e. chiong sua.
Thanks

most likely within pes c range. for exact pes code and land code, then arrange for the medical review, and request the medical centre' attending mo to arrange for ur case to be medical board pending. medical board cases for reservists can be scheduled up to 3 months pending kiv, depending on the formation's medical board meets and the no. of cases... just like the appt. waiting time of some polyclinic cases when referred to govt. hospitals... takes months... just arrange for a medical review thru the ebooking. take morning half day off or leave to make a trip down lah...
hey... i have a mild sunken chest.. and the doctor said that i will be a PES B. Is there a chance that i will still get chosen to go to commandos or guards?

Roger that. Thanks a lot for your time taken to help answer my queries.
Much appreciated! Have a happy CNY :)
Hi,
I've already read the first page. But I'm curious if my commander can insist that I continue front line combat training even when informed of my downgrading? Or has the system changed such that C2L2 still need to chiong?
Thanks.
C2L2 is still deployable outfield so in a way you still need to chiongsua.
i have atopic eczema, skin problem - chronic
i've had pneumonia when i was young, and a sensitive nose all along.
due to medication, i can't even pass NAPFA now. what PES would i be?
it seems that it is at least a C?

i have chronic atopic eczema as well and i was graded C9L9. but 3 days before enlistment i was downgraded to E1 for reasons unknown to me. my friend has a friend who he believes has the same condition as me but he is C9L9.

C2 means that serviceman is not fit to take their IPPT.
L2 means that serviceman can bear firearms and can go outfield. However, they cannot be deployed in front line duties like direct combat.
If your commander insists that you participate in their training but you feel that your condiition don't allow you to do so, you can appeal to get the specific excuse like excuse outfield training or whatever excuse training that you need.
You can appeal by arranging for a medical review by making an appointment with unit medical centre via National Service Human Resource Centre. During your medical review with the medical officer, inquire the MO whether your condition allows you to have this excuse. MO can only give excuses temporarily during the consultation visit.
You can check for more details about what your PES status means at your unit medical centre or National Service Human Resource Centre (NSHRC in short).
