Hi everybody, I just wish to know whether a Pes E NSF can be allowed to go overseas for exercises or not?

yes. affirmative.
y i'm sure... since i saw a pes e9l9 storeman packing his duffel bag and flew to taiwan for a couple of weeks... pes e pple can still be deployable to base camp HQ according to land code...
So that means a pes e clerk should also be able to go overseas for exercises too? (since storeman and clerk job scope is different)
I was denied by my unit MO to go for this year overseas exercise just because I'm pes e which I find it funny because all I have to do there is to deliver messages between personnels inside a building. So I'm thinking of asking my superior to bring me along next year if the MO say no again.
Although I was advised against by some people because officers might not want to clash with MOs.
Now only can hope that either the next MOs (current ones ORDing) will allow me to fly for the exercise or my officer can push for it.
Hi all.
I'm C2L2 perm and ORD-ed.
However recently I received a letter asking me to go for PES Downgrade review at MMI.
Why is this so when my PES status is perm?
Anyone can advise?

clearly, no case for downgrade. even for drug allergies. drug allergies just notify medical centre to update ur medical records.
so far when i was in ns, this common antibiotics is still in use in the medical centre and any govt polyclinics... and the memo u had is 'just to inform' mo that u taking this drug while in ns.
if u still think u have a case valid for medical board, then prove to a specialist to write a memo for taking this drug renders u unable to work while in ns.
if after serveral yrs of taking this drug to treat ur ance, and it still not better, then switch to other many antibiotics for ance. e.g. doxycycline. an example.
Just a curious qn
if one ever had psychological issues i.e. depression bef enlistment. how would such cases be treated?

u have to see your own doctor.
Originally posted by tarutaru:u have to see your own doctor.
yes, u r right.
see ur own doctor/specialist/psychiatrist. then if u want, get memo to show saf camp mo when enlisted, or when seeing the cmpb doctor for pre-enlistee checkup.
banned medicine for acne is oratane or accutane . vitamin A compound .
gt heard abt people nt enlisting due to this medicine .
too many side effects plus dangers of exposing to sunlight .
also gt 6 months to stop before u gt to enlist .
the tekong MO told me banned due to sunlight .
also have many side effects like liver derangment , jaundice , burns , possible sucidal , depression .................
doxycycline and erythromycin are nt banned .
though some ppl serving NS secretly take it , i saw my skin doctors giving it to NSF .
wont get charged ?
very severe acne can downpes .

no date/time length period means perm.
outfield or not see ur excuses n confirm wif ur commander. l9 land code refer to the very 1st page of this thread.
how long the medical board takes ?
Originally posted by goldevil:how long the medical board takes ?
usually settled within a day. routine medical board frequency is scheduled by the formation MO (usually medical board chairman of Major rank), most usual of 1 day per month is medical board day at the designated formation hq medical centre or designated regional medical centre.
for medical board meet @ MMI is dependable on MMI schedule.
I have something impt to ask. I'm very interested to enter OCS (i'm 18 this year). I haven't got to my medical screening but I'm colour blind, night blind and hard of hearing. Is there any chances?? :( I can wear hearing aids or something. Any chance? And wot pes would i end up in?
I'm also interested in knowing some of the various ailments that lead to PES E and F classification. :P
Im used to be PES A but was downgraded to C1L3 perm with P-tag during my BMT due to anxiety disorder as I was having problem adjusting to the new environment.
But now I have recovered and been discharged by the SAF psychiatrist and everything is alright.
Will I be able to upgraded to PES A/B ? Because Im seeking the option of signing on with the army. What are the chances of upgrading for my case?

its better and strongly recommended to declare ur present and past medical conditions to the cmpb mo truthfully and honestly. ns is only 2 years... some injuries, or possible further injuries to worsen ur present condition is FOR LIFE.
u have night blindness... u ever thought of night training with the very minimal use of torchlight, and a faint glow of lightstick.
u have hearing problem... u ever thought of live firing. even with the use of a pair of ear buds, the firing at close range with the eye at the scope, the ears to the firing chamber. u may go deaf sooner.
pes is based on PULHEEMS code. go wikipedia it, its worldwide used in the armed forces. ur HEE is already affected. Hearing, left Eye, right Eye.
ocs and sispec is based on selection, not by interest expressed.
Does that mean i stand no chances to enter OCS? It has always hurt my pride to wear hearing aids so i never wore them but i dont mind having them as long as i can 'upgrade' my pes? Will i end up in E? I only have certificates for color blindness but do i need one for night blindness and hearing? Please advice thanks.
800th...
