yes, if you get silver or gold for napfa, and is deem fit for combat position.
and to eimerz, i think pes E can become officer, ( those medical officer, not those combat ones).
i think you need to get uni degree in medcine or dentistry first, before you can become MO in ns. the pay is good leh, $2k per month.

to add on....
for point 1, it may only limited to within pes c1 category only.
for point 2, ya... need to disrupt ns for medicine/dentistry to get doctor license 1st... MBBS degree certification
Hi guys, I got 2 questions.
1. I received a pre-enlistment letter for medical checkup but I've already done so last year around September-November. I then realised it's because I'm completing
my 1 year ITE course soon (Jan intake). I'm continueing for another 2 years next year
which means my course will end somewhere in December 2010. Should I defer for
another 2 years or should I go for the medical checkup and defer later?
2. If say I'm borned into a religion but am a free thinker, is it possible to put "no religion" in my eSelf-Update?
Thanks :)
If my shrink writes a memo stating my diagnosis (dysthymia with high possibility of major depressive episode relapse) but didn't state any PES recommendations, will my camp mo reject the memo? or will he take it from there and look up the pes directive?

1) do both at the same time. med check is not enlistment. you still have to go for med check even if you defer now. you will have to defer annually.
Hi.
I am going for my NS med on 19th June.
Currently, I am under Specialist medication cos of an Acne Problem since last year. I am due for another appointment with her in July.
I also have this problem of my hands shivering when I hold things for too long, like holding food with chopsticks. Under GP medication now, going to seek specialist treatment in July or August.
What PES will they give me? I do not have any medical letter from my Specialist regarding my acne problem but I am due for another appointment in July, as mentioned earlier. If I tell them verbally about my Acne problem and my hands shivering problem, will the MOs believe? and what Pes would they give me?
Appreciate your replies. Thanks in advance =D

1. get a memo from the GP regarding the hand shivering problem.
2. since u now no memo from the acne specialist, bring ur appt card n medication to support ur verbal claims.
3. after getting the memos from both specialists in july/august, call the cmpb at 1800 3676767 and arrange with them to either fax over the memos to them or personally go cmpb again for further review.
for pes, i really have no idea. anyway, just bring all supporting documents, n u will noe on 19 june medical checkup.
Hmm.. But given my current situation, most likely i won't be fit for activities that involve 'frolicking' in mud and dirty areas right, like field camp and stuff.
I probably also won't be fit for firearms given my hand condition.
Will they give PES D, which is something that goes along the line of pending treatment or something like that right? What do they mean by PES D?

read the very 1st page of this thread...
pes d is only a 'unable to determine pes on the spot, pending further review/medical board to determine exact final pes.'
if u given a pes d, then after checkup go home n wait for letter to give u an official pes b4 enlistment.
What should be in the contents of the letter from the Specialist to submit to MO on Ns Medical Day?
Should it just contain my current situation and the medication I'm taking?
or should it also include 'please excuse my patient from blah blah blah activities'?

the specialist will noe what to include... the memo to SAF is fairly a common memo among all medical memos...
both ur points r included...
hi all, i have medical condition that requires me to be on diapers. may i know which PES will i be given? thanks.

as ur case is a rare case, i have never come across in my ns time, hence i can't give u an answer.
even if u have this condition, but u r able to function as per normal person does (e.g. schooling, work, study, exercise...etc.), u would likely to be given pes e at best, otherwise, it's perhaps pes c.
u just have to bring all those supporting documents when checkup at cmpb.

whole medical checkup takes about 1.5hrs.
rotation among the different sections in group of say... 20?
e.g. chest x-ray, eyesight, ecg, height, weight, blood pressure, urine test (take cup n go toliet), blood test. then some admin like uniform fitting n boot size feet measurement...
for mo consultation is the same as u go to any GP clinic. private 1-to-1 room. here u give mo all the supporting documents, self-declare any condition...etc... then the 'strip n cough' checkup will be done here.
