i have a question to ask.recently,i went to the hospital to check my hand due to the fact that i have difficulty extending my elboy fully.got an x-ray done and it was found that my medial epicondyle has chipped off,a problem caused by a childhood accident.i have been referred to an orthopaedics doctor and there is a likelihood that i will have to go for surgery.may i know whether my pes status will be changed and to what?
ps.my pes status is A and im a cbt medic.
I have snapping hips since childhood and it causes me great pain during jumping and when I carry heavy objects. I also PES B. The MO has given me excuse rmj, heavy load, lower limbs and IPPT until end of this month. In the first week of July, I will have to see a specialist who will discuss surgery - removal of bursa muscles.
If I do not undergo the surgery (very painful), my condition will remain the same though I cannot partake in intensive lower limbs activites. Which PES would I be?
If I do undergo it, will the removal of my bursa mucles affect my PES status?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PULHHEEMS => PES
since it affects the "U" above, most likely downgrade to pes c range. but whether it is a temp/perm, i don't know.
urge to do surgery in ns, full subsidy. if hospital stay is needed for a couple of days, u pay a very very minimal fee... most likely less than $50, deductable via medisave. after discharge, some att c days, then might have some light duties days... worth it. if not wrong, u r a medic right... u should know much more abt this than the average nsf soldier.

if surgery done, also most likely downgrade to pes c range. but whether it is a temp/perm, i don't know.
also urge u to do surgery in ns for the same benefits above.
Hi,
a divergent squint with diplopia (double vision) is what pes? one of my plt mates has it, already pes C, but he's wondering if that will change the pes.
he had trouble with rifle assembly back at bmt, too hard for his eyes to focus on small objects etc..
thanks

if he has declared it already, then it's just pes c range.
if he haven't declare / or has specialist memo to justify and certify the consideration of a further medical board review, then go to medical centre and submit the memo to the mo.
i knew of a guy who has had obvious "off-centre" eyes given pes e during my ns time....
Was wondering, if a Specialist and GP letter is given, most likely PES C right?
Cos Specialist > GP > MO.

Hi eac, just wondering if I am pes c1l3 and then today I just went for specialist checkup and he said I got a hamstring and excuse me from lower limbs activities for 3months.
I am due for enlistment on 25th of July and I think that pes status also excuses me from upper limb activities. So am I right to say that I'm excused like from lower limb + upper limb activities?
What exactly will I be doing if that is that case (during BMT)? I hope I wont get recourse from BMT for no reason la... :( got friends say got high chance of that since I cannot pass the IPPT etc etc
Hi, i'm a service medic at MCC (medical classification centre).
i recommend that you should declare your condition at cmpb, cos your specialist recommend excuse but the MO's need to officially recognize that.
about bmt that one i'm not so sure, but you can check with the enlistment staff at cmpb.
for review please call 6373 1340, or walk in to CMPB-MCC between 8-11 am or 1 to 4 pm. Recommended time is 9 am or 2 pm to minimise waiting time.

for the meaning of pes status, refer to the very 1st page of this topic thread...
wrong, u r only excused from lower limbs activities only... like running, marching, jumping (RMJ)
for activities during bmt, refer to the bmt topic thread... tons of information
u will still pass out of bmt despite failing ippt, u will just POPed and go for a vocational course assigned, then post to a unit as the particular vocationalist.
Ok, noted, thanks much to eac and yqng :)
So I should call in to CMPB and tell them I went to specialist and he excused me from lower limbs etc. Just basically update them right? Okay, will ring them tomorrow and talk to them.
Thanks again !
Be sure to say hi if you go to station 6. I'm yqng. can see from my name tag.. haha..
Hi, I just went to get my specialist letter endorsed by my MO yesterday. May I know when will I be able to know the results of the medical board? I had a slip disc..most probably C2 or C9.

u nsf/nsmen?
did the mo inform u that u will be medically boarded?
if so, the medic at the counter will give u the note of undertaking of medical board that will state the month of medical board, whether board in adsence (most usually the case) / presence (if u want/insist)...etc.
depending the extent of diagnosis, it usually within c2 to c9 range.
I nsmen.
Yup, I signed the note of undertaking of medical form already (board in absence).
As for the month of medical board, I wasn't so sure. :P
I presume that I have to give my medical centre a call to find out the status right?
Any direct number I can call to find out beside medical centre?

besides ur designated unit medical centre, u can call ur respective NS HRC.
but for this, best is still call the medical centre. usually the MO's Personal Assistant (MOPA)/medical board IC medic have the schedule.
If given PES D and asked to seek Specialist help, are there Specialists provided by the Medical Centre at CMPB that can be recommended to you? or you are supposed to find your own one.

answered in medical thread...
hey guys. i just finished my BMT and ive been posted to guards but the problem is that i have a previous wrist fracture that keeps giving me problems. i fought through bmt with the pain and even highlighted the problem to my pc but nothing was actually done. my left wrist hurts when i do push ups, pull ups or when i carry weights on it and when i strain it.
so im just worried that with a posting like guards, i wont be able to take it because of this injury. what can be done? if the pain persists and affects my training there is it possbile to seek for a medical review?
thanks for the help.
u come here ask for help for what..
go specialist get letter go see mo for better chance of downgrade.
or just go see mo and get excuses etc..
i recently found out that i have an ulnar nerve dislocation/subluxation at my right elbow.. i occasionally get slight pains in my elbow/arm usually after applying a force and my right hand gets a bit numb if i were to bend my elbow for a few minutes.. anyone knows how this condition will affect daily activities and what i should/shouldn't do?

get referral letter to hospital thru either: 1) camp medical centre; 2) polyclinic, 3) report sick at hospital A&E.... just show 11b, all bill under SAF...
i personally knew a guy during my ns time also wrist fracture. he was then downgraded to pes c1l3, excuse chin ups in IPPT and push ups permanent.
