Hey people, yes i've posted above, so sorry for this posting again,
just wanna clarify with you guys, I just read my summary of medical status issued by CMPB, And i found out that
under excuses it stated nil,
and my pes status is C9L3 so what does it means when it stated nil under excuses?
Will it affect my BMT life?
Thanks in advance!

for pes status definition, go read page 1 of this thread...
for nil, it just means u r fit to perform normal duties/vocations under pes c9l3 category.
e.g. some common excuses others have: excuse heavy loads, excuse upper limbs, excuse lower limbs...etc...etc.

we can get reports from government hospitals. so if you are sure you have ssen at sgh we can get from them. but of course if you want you can get ur own letter you can. juz remember when you declare MUST declare that your movement is limited. the MO will downgrade as necessary and not heck care or bo chap. according to what you say, i dun think the MO will require the report. he'll probably examine you, give you pes grading on the spot or do xray for you (if required then will get report).
for your myopia (short-sightedness), you may or may not be required to see the eye MO (depending on your astigmatism and whether you see floaters etc), but you will be suitably downgraded for it (yes you can be downgraded for severe myopia, depending on how severe and how it affects you).

I'll be going to SGH in a couple of weeks to get the necessary information. I guess all i heard from that ITP colleague about the MO put injured but recovered and can move one to PES B and above.
for my myopia, if take out/lose spectacles i cannot see a thing clearly at all.

but the point i am putting at is the % of the recovery...
for ur case, ur finger mobility and flexibility is affected though the finger fracture may recovered to near full.
anyway, who do u want to listen? ur ITP colleague (dunno ? vocation) or the guys here providing info whom have some knowledge knowhow of the medical system in the army...

he probably didn't have the intention of cheating you la.. he probably juz don't know how it works. if i'm not wrong, you probably haven't gone through the medical screening at CMPB. remember to bring up whatever your concerns are.
Hi Guys, I am recently diagnosed with bilateral plantar fasciitis on both of my feet. And there is a stress injury on my heel too, due to my heavy weight. And I had been having difficulties in standing for long period and I cant do any high impact exercise. I can only wear cushioned sports shoes, wearing hard leather or heavy shoes will make my feet very painful. Is that serious enough to warrant a perm downgrade?Ireally hope it will get well soon, it is making my life feel so painful and uncomfortable.
according to the medical directive, att c more than 28 days and/or att b more than 84 days is a compulsory medical board case right?
i was given att c for 7 weeks (accumulated though.. 1wk + 2 wks + 4 wks but continuous) and after my attc ended, i was given a 3 mth att b for excuse U/L, heavy load, IPPT & SOC, and light duties.
however, i wasn't boarded for a temporary downgrade. may i know why is this the case?

u should have brought this up during the medical review at medical centre... anyway, u can always go back to speak to MO regarding this again...

yes, can be downgraded... as i replied to u b4, pls go get a latest stronger worded specialist memo to show the unit medical centre..
if it's just for the annual IPPT, just get a GP MC/memo during ur normal IPPT session, ask the PTI to bring u to medical centre and endorse the MC to excuse IPPT for a couple of / some weeks.

do bring up your concerns. MOs won't know how bad it is. you have to tell them how you feel. so bring up your concerns. tell the MO how your shoes will affect you to so they can give you an excuse regarding your footwear.
Hi, i just suffered knee ligament damage. my medical checkup is quite soon. May i know what PES i will get?
i'm not sure if its torn or stretched knee ligament damage. will there be a difference in the classification of PES status if torn or stretch? or is it under same PES classification.

yes, but still within pes c range.
but if it less serious as written by the specialist memo, then MO still have the option of pes b with excuse lower limbs, run, march, jump (RMJ)... temp for a few months/perm.
i have a question.when i went to show memo,it was written by my unit MO on the report sick paper that i would be referred to mmi for pes recommendation but i've received my appt letter and the referral letter has no mention of the pes recommendation.will the mmi specialist know the reason as to my referral?
cheers,
nazrul

it maybe, maybe not.
for this, u would have to clarify with the MOPA who mostly do these typing in PACES2, as IIRC, u mentioned somewhere that u r a medic.
or u can also read ur own medical stuff in PACES2, as it's ur own case file anyway, provided when u have access to PACES2 log in.
I have a question regarding duration of BMT.
1)If a recruit is obese will he definitely serve 5 months of BMT? From other sources I heard that obese BMT is 4 months.
2) If a recruit does not attain gold/dilver for NAPFA he attends an additional 4 weeks of PTP right? So what happens if he is both obese and did not attain silver/gold?
thanks

1) For PES BP*
- with BMI 27 to 35 - 15-week BMT
- with BMI more than 35 - 26-week BMT
Thus, ur PTP is already integrated in there, or consider it as an extended PTP-BMT version.
2) PTP is only for PES A/B without Silver/Gold.
FYI, go to www.ns.sg , go to the pre-enlistee section, find the pdf format Recruit's Handbook. or Read here: http://iprep.ns.sg/
thanks alot eac.
oh yah and also, if the recruit is classified PES B/P at pre-enlisment check, and he loses enough wait to have BMI of below 27 before enlistment, is he able to upgrade before BMT so as to avoid doing so much BMT?
thanks again!

can u go read the recruit handbook... all the info i quoted r extracted from there...
" *If a registrant, who is medically graded PES BP, and can attain the NAPFA silver or gold award before enlistment, CMPB Medical Officers will review his medical fitness status to determine whether he can be re-graded to PES B. If there is a change to PES B status, the registrant will attend the 9-week BMT instead and also enjoy 2 months reduction in his NSF."

okay, for the others, it's the eHealth module in www.ns.sg under either NSF / NSman tab section.

err, correction: it's 27 to 32.4 (15 weeks) and 32.4 and above (26 weeks).
Asking, say I get a pes C or E for mild deafness. I've a review months later. What if I 'recover'? (miracle). Do I have to re-do bmt or smth?
