urgently need help. NSF ezlink card?

as above.. just went to try to get the bus concession thingy for NSFs.. the $61 bux one. but was told i needed the green NSF ezlink card.. then went to do a search online, turns out i gotta apply for it through my respective camps.
that's really the case? can't i go down to SIR or any of those new little transitlink offices to get it? if that's e case.. jialat liao man. surely alot of paperwork and waiting time one i guess?
would appreciate any help guys.. reporting to new camp tml liao. worse still, i need like 3 transfers to get there.. would cost me a bomb everyday if i don't have e concession man.. -

erm... this may sound cheap and low. but.. y not juz get ur youngest sibling's concession if they dun need it.. hha.

For NSF Concession Card, you got to apply through your Manpower/Admin Branch. If you newly enlisted, you are entitled to apply for one through them. If you will be enlisting in April 2005, a concession card will be applied automatically by Personnel Service Centre.
After obtaining the card, you got to make a refundable deposit of $3. From there, you can sign up any of the bus or mrt or bus&mrt plans. -
You cannot blame SAF for the long waiting time of the card. It is Transitlink who need some time, such as more than 1 month, to process.. They need to print the cards. as mentioned above by the other guy.. if i really use my sister's ezlink card and purchase a concession.. would the sound of the 'beeps' given off by the NSF ezlink and the student concession ezlink be the same?
its not really good to sorta cheat like that, but to ask an NSF to spend over half his monthly allowance on transport due to the horrid oversight of the SAF beauracracy would be terribly unfair yeah...? -
i apply for mine through my HQ clerk. took me 2 months to get it.
btw, i don't recomended using your siblings' ezlink card cos the "beep" sound is different. u don't wanna embarrass yourself while u are in no.4 caught by the bus driver or the occasional bus conductor right? -

Me are entitle to free, yes FOC travel on all BUS/TRAINS/LRT which operates by that ASS-*-*-*. The last time my company having this changing of ezlink card cum staff pass ( 2-in-1 ), it took them almost 3-4months before I got mine.
So blame on the Transitlink. They slow mah.

guess ill look for the chief clerk tml immediately when i report.. and highlight my case.. lets hope for the best.. -
i gonna agree with u nAkAnO, i myself spent about $60 - $70 on transportations everyday (train concession plus bus rides). but hey, look on the bright side, at least u get to book out everyday, sleep in your own bed, watch TV / play computer at home.
btw what is your vocation now?

anyway, i was posted as an automotive tech 'B'.. hahah.. quite shiok from what i heard.. can get my 3SG stripes as well eventually. kinda exactly what i wanted lah... esp after having some problems with stress and depression back at tekong during my BMT days.
for me personally, i really gotta agree with you again also. i seriously wouldn't mind tough training at all, no matter how xiong it may be, as long as like what you said i have that something to look forward too, booking out, sleeping in my own bed and meeting up with my gf.. friends, and seeing my family and siblings every nite.. that's damn hell important to me.
which is why perhaps i had those problems during BMT, even tho the physical training-wise it was no more than a holiday chalet la. because i knew i was like that, being mentally weaker than most others when it comes to things i have zero passion for ( eg: NS ), i made up my mind to just 'don't be the first, don't be the last..', just do my part and do it well, always remain in the background, and not trying to stand out at all right from day 1 in tekong.. altho not being chao keng or being a fuckup that drags down the platoon la. never wanting to be a commander right from e start even tho i was almost assured a place as one of the 'scholar batch' BMT intakes..
not everyone would agree with me, and some may even brand me as chao-keng inspite of what i've said, but i have a clear conscience.. and have got a vocation which i kinda looked for all the while maintaining the respect and liking of my fellow platoon mates in BMT who understood me for who i was, and respected me for still doing my best and not dragging the entire platoon down even tho they knew i had no interest of going to command school at all right from the start..
so well, to sum it up.. yeah. im very happy.
