deferment rules are bloody fucked up

Any guy who wants to re-take 'O' have to go to a private sch. to study even if u only need to re-take one subject. You also need to take five subjects at the private school to be granted a deferment.
I don't see why I have to waste money and time just because i need deferment. Private schools actually cheat mindef by declaring a student has signed up for 5 subjects even though he really only signed up for 3 subjects. Even so, it's still time and money wasted when u only need to re-take one subject. Nobody wants to fail any exams, it's not our fault, why do we have to pay such a heavy price just to defer NS?
Why should we go through more than the girls? Why couldn't we have the equal chance as girls to re-take O levels without going to a private school? We've already lost out to them on ns, I don't see why I have to lose out to girls just because of NS, girls should lose out to us as we've contributed more to the nation and not the other way round.
You know how ridiculous it is to re-take five subjects when you only need to re-take one? The deferment rules should change especially since polys now start term at april which means majority of guys can start poly before 18 even if they re-take O levels. In fact, the age for ns should just be raised to 19 to give people the chance to re-take O levels -

although it could be due to the later batches being better at memorizing

I have never heard of this rule. I retook my Os, privately and only took two subjects. Never had a problem with deferment. Where did you hear this from?

a good example would be geography math and phsycis. once you understand the flow of things, everything else comes logically. only thing you really have to memorise at this point would be names and defintions. -

I was a private candidate, applied only for 2 subjects, and did not go to any school. The point is deferment was not an issue for such things.
