I am on MC thats why I even got a time to write this. So many ppl out there thinks and clerk is ^$%^$% slack!!!
I am in an understaffed arty unit that requires me to do the job of 5 full-time clerks. I only got one life, how to do the job of five persons???!!!
I cant understand why CPC don't post new clerks to my unit. My unit branch only got 5 NSF clerks. In the past six months, 4 of them ORDed and their work juz transfer to me. Now I am the only clerk left. Sumtimes i don't even have time to go to toilet!!! and my lunch is only 15 minutes!!!
When giving appointment, I now write

heh.... sounds like my situation as well..... although im only doing the work of 3 ppl. Had to bring back work to do, had to work on weekends as well.... no going to canteen, no sports.... also on mc like you now.....
Well, i tried talking to my superiors...... well CC was rather understanding.... my encik was a whole different story. Told me i need to "focus" after an hour long lecture.
I think the only way out for you is to ask for transfer or upgrade and go back for BMT if possible. eh, maybe u try SAF hotline and see how it works.
For me, ive only got about a year left. Hoping i get an understudy soon..... then at least i only have to do half the current shit...... -

clerk = mental stress
combat = physical stress
no point comparing. both sides got their pros and cons, i got clerk frens who would rather be in combat if they could. not everyone is a clerk because they keng. -

daneow55 MC over liao. back to his 5 in 1 clerk job. next time u go outfield take a moment to think why u have food to eat when u're outfield. people who just think clerks chao keng and don't appreciate what they do are pure bastards. Any organisation needs their admin staff, perhaps u'll grow a brain in time to understand that. -
I got one fren in clerk vocation. Ask him shred some paper he say he feel very stress. Nabei realli feel like beating him up. He is the disgrace of army. Everyday say he his stress yet spend a lot of time reading books and singing...
I believe that why combat ppl hate clerks so much is becoz some of the clerks are realli slackers(n bloody useless), and enjoy many prvilleges that combat dun have like nights off, 8-5 working hr for example
But some commands respect from fellow colleagues due to their working abilities.
Realli no matter what vocation you are in, they will sure be some black sheeps ard, not only clerks -

there are people who chao geng to become clerks, but that's not to say all clerks are chao geng. if we demand our courts to recognise a person as not guilty until found to be so, why do we practice double standard in this aspect of life?
everyone in the saf plays a role. there is no point making comparisons of their importance cos that will be comparing apples with oranges. suffice to say that if these positions (clerks in this instance) are redundant, no organisation would keep them to incur overheads. think about what goes on behind the scenes to allow you to get your pay/allowance on time each month, and perhaps you would appreciate one small aspect of a clerk's job. next time, dont just look for them when you have admin problems - praise them when they do their work and do it well! they are fellow humans, fellow singaporeans, fellow NSFs too. everyone likes to be recognised - im sure you too. so why not recognise them for who they are and what they do?
