i don't stop them from doing anything of that sort. they can do that, just don't litter the place -

for those who had never seen 1 b4, it a lose rounds pouch. way back oni demo man used it to put the small charge they carried with. i used it for my ciggy, see the plastic container inside?
for those who had never seen 1 b4. it M16 mag pouch. 2 side by side on my left side... most are thought to fix it left and right. max it can put 4 X M16 30 rounds mag each pouch.

the saf issued small torch. can't be bothered to waste money on the L torch.
i think that's it
i use it mainly as a pillow or back rest. -
During NS time:-
Many things. Including a FM radio, extra food. Latest letter from girl friend then etc etc.
During reservist time:-
None of the above !
One water bottle only but 2 pouches, the other bottle is left in the full pack. One pouch with outside rations ! Plus mobile phone, PDA, maglite,small book to read. Carried one of those "sungei road" green canvas bag for the military stuff (i.e. map, NVG, compass, pens , spare telt whatever). Cannot lug around too much stuff, as my reservist job at that time was to coordinate between CPs, and involved a lot of "tent visits". We have to lay down our stuff at some point or other in the commanders' tents. So have to watch out for stuff being nicked or just lost. See other posting on pistol. I usually entrust the small canvas bag to someone else, and just wear my ultra light SBO for the briefings. -

Depends on the exercise i go to but a typical load:
2 Waterbottle
1 toggle rope
1 Fox 40 whistle
1 Zippo
1 ear-plug
1 OFF Spray (used if exercise is non-tactical in nature)
3 tube Camo (2 green 1 black)
2 tube SAF repellant
1 Lock & Lock tupperware with first aid items, tissue, mosquito coils, batteries and solid fuel.
1 roll black tape
1 Range card
5 sheets of Range card sized telt
1 jack knife
1 Diving torch
1 silva compass
1 protractor
1 set of 4 OHP markers
1 mini sized white board (to illustrate to men field movements)
2 packet SAF biscuits
1 krill cylume stick
1 micro sized LED light (slightly brighter than Betalight for map reading)
1 non-saf waterproof binoculars.
I was promised an LBV back in December 2004, the stock came last week, but ALB only sent enough for men. PCs are issued only temporarily and have to pass to their 2nd year PC.
Sect Comd, PS, OC only suck thumb for the moment and only hope ALB will be issue later.
My CSM was a ADF guy, so has his LBV. -
